This kinda crap makes me so sick to my stomach you would not believe... the worst thing is that it is the innocent people that have to suffer for what they have no involvement in. I really hope nobody else gets hurt in the aftermath of this.

Who are these people shooting civilians now, how do we reach a state like this?!

In general in regards to the Bombcast I find them too long, I wouldn't mind if they just cut the What have you been playing this week section. It seems redundant and I don't much care for it. I think the Podcasts themselves could be made a little more concise and to the point. I am all for off topic discussion and tangents, my problem is with the regular dead air which is really the result of no drive or focus to the discussion, which means conversations come to an end and nobody has anything to say.

I think if they aimed for a 90 minute duration the Podcast would be better for it, but I guess that's just me, I still listen every week regardless I just rarely get to the end, as opposed to a number of other podcasts I listen to.

There are exceptions, for example the Game of the year deliberations were excellent, but in general for the Bombcast, shorter would be better.

The phrasing in the first post and of the title belie the somewhat interesting question raised by what I think was being inferred here.

Namely that, is the series on a decline to where it can no hold a candle to what it once meant to both the industry and gamers in general. It is impossible to answer at this point, because while the series is definitely struggling to find a clear direction and identity there is still enough clout to cause it to be a multi million seller.

Personally it definitely feels like the series is no longer the industry behemoth it once was, regardless of what your personal taste may be for a particular title. While game wise I think most people would agree that the Playstation One era was the Golden Age for the series (VII, VIII and IX), the Playstation Two era (X, XI and XII) represented a strong initial drive and exploration into how the series could evolve, the current generation titles just don't feel like they are delivering on what the expectations are from the series (XIII, XIV so far).

It's impossible not look at this and just think that really since the U turn for the company that was The Spirits Within, the series has never been the same and without a team driving the creative vision it's impossible for the series to regain the respect it once held.

Anyway, long post is long, I think we can only hope that the series has NOT peaked and will recover, but I doubt it. I think what we can look forward to are good memories of a time when the game industry was in a different place and of a company that no longer exists following the exodus from Squaresoft of what was really the heart and soul of Final Fantasy.

The player is a super-man bullet sponge, but it still looks great (other than the GTTV interludes ;) ).

I have a feeling for demo purposes invincibility may have been enabled, there were a few times where I was sure his life bar (that thing at the top) hit zero and he was still kicking, though to be fair that could be something else.

Regardless this game is breathtaking I don't know how they can sustain this kind of involvement over a period of 8 hours plus. Not to mention I loved the twist with the rift where it takes them to the future?! Holy shit if for nothing else I want to see how the story plays out.

Same, I am a relatively new user and my steam achievements have not synced since I decided to add them to my profile here. Really disappointed, since I thought the feature is awesome and I love how it breaks down the achievements into rank.

Can a button not be added that manually refreshes the achievements page? Hope this gets resolved soon.

Working in the industry and having experienced this myself, my heart goes out to these guys. Losing your job like that is one of the worst experiences I have had in my professional career. All the best to them.

I find it strange how much coverage this game is getting, for something slated for a vague 2012, though look at how good it looks, maybe it is closer than we realize.

Someone suggested it may be Q1 of 2012 as that was the same launch window for the original Bioshock, though that may not have anything to do with anything. Still Fall 2012 would kill me!

Why are they showing so much of this game?! Don't they know it's making the wait unbearable? Looks excellent. I am so excited.
