Looking at the Top 500 things @rorie posted I was surprised to find my #9 and #10 games were voted on by more people than just me.
Same for me. Wasn't even sure if anyone else played Fru and Californium. Also, it's kind of hilarious that someone voted for a game that literally has 2014 in it's title.
Hitman was what I thought would take it. Surprised Mafia 3 didn't make the list. I would have dropped The Witness a spot or two lower but whatever. I'll have to listen to the deliberations and see how this all went down.
@kowbrainz: For me, that moment in The Witness happened pretty early on, but I kind of went into that game expecting something more to be going on than just a bunch of screens with line puzzles. Maybe that's why I was so disappointed with how it wrapped up.
Anyway, I think a more fitting moment from The Witness is the first time you crack a puzzle set that had previously stumped you. I think most people had a moment where they just couldn't wrap their head around a puzzle and had to walk away from it. And then suddenly it just "clicked" and you were off to the races. More memorable to me than noticing the environment, which looks suspiciously like a line puzzle at points, is in fact just that.
I think the only reason they cut this out is because, unless I'm mistaken, this is the first hands on they've had with the game. It seems silly to keep that locked behind a paywall, even if it did originally take place on UPF. Giving a first look to their full audience makes sense.
I'm not the biggest fan of Dan and Vinny, but JESUS they got insufferable during this review.
Vinny in particular seems to struggle with anything that's not a massive square-jawed male Western protagonist. Constantly calling the child character stupid and laughing at him. It really distracted me during the Quick Look.
You're joking right? Does someone actually not like Vinny?
This looks...tedious to play. I understand they want Trico to behave like an animal and not just a mindless tool, but standing around waiting for the AI to do what you want doesn't look fun or charming.
I did the elusive target tonight before watching the show.
Dan's instincts were actually spot on: I started in the kitchen, threw a knife through the guy's head, and jogged out to the helicopter while everyone was freaking out and looking for a guard. Whole thing took less than forty seconds.
I bumped into his entourage when he went to leave, closed the door while they acted all pissy and then threw the knife. It was super easy.
@havochq I haven't watched the video yet, but I know from the thumbnail those are some Kenney assets. That dude is a gift from god for hobby/entry level game designers.
