Basically the title says it all.... My father has been threatening it for a long time because he's sick and tired of my dog shedding, but when I got home today they actually did it, they told me last week that they had found a family interested in my dog but I didn't believe they were being serious.... I've had that dog since I was like 11, every time I've moved and lost all my friends, my dog was always there for me so that I actually had a friend. She was such an amazing animal, she was literally the perfect dog... I'm actually depressed, I can't believe that she's gone.... Holy shit man... this sucks....

I'm really sorry to hear that, man. I know what it's like to lose a dog, though my experience is under a different circumstance. That's a really fucked up thing your parents did, especially not even giving you a chance to say goodbye. If it was me, I'd do everything in my power to get my dog back, but I understand that's most likely not a possibility. I seriously hope her new family cares enough about her to not get rid of her due to some piss-poor excuse like shedding.

Also, when my parents divorced, my father took my dog and went to another province. The next week I booked a 1000$ return trip to BC to take my dog back. True story; was definitely worth it.

I've had that experience, too; not the dog thing, but moving away and losing all my friends, so I guess I know what you're going through.

Yeah, I can't help but think at a certain point if you're expecting the rest of your family take care of your dog then it's really up to them to decide if they want to continue to take care of it. But what I don't understand is if you've had the dog since you were 11(I'm guessing thats a while, I don't know how old you are), why is your dad just now getting upset about the shedding?

People like that should never get animals to begin with. They never seem to realize that the dog integrates into your family on an emotional level, and there is no getting rid of them without seriously screwing them up. And over something that stupid... I mean, I've grown to be more than a little annoyed by the level of shedding my dog seems to do, to where I can vacuum practically every day and still get clumps of fur around (and the worst part is the havok it wreaks with computer components). I'm even annoyed by the fact that my dog has gotten really baby-ish in his old age, and does stupid things he was taught not to do as a puppy, but none of that means I'd get rid of him. You just don't do that. It's not like there are only the bad times...
 
And its especially bad that she meant a lot to you. Make yourself heard. Get a de-shedding brush and promise to groom her to keep the fur down. They should have known what owning a dog entails before they got her.
