He gave the dog away for shedding? Time to get new parents. I don't know how old you are now, but I'm going to guess you had the dog for 5+ years. Dad seems mentally unstable if he decides it's time to get rid of it 5+ years after the fact.

Open up a dog obedience school in your parent's bedroom.

My parents got rid of my dog when i was around 10, it sucked.  When I moved, my dog was all i had too(different dog). 

You should find yourself a new family. And give your parents a weeks notice.

They got rid of your dog just because it sheds? If my dad ever did that to me, he would absolutely end up with a black eye.

tearing up your house, shitting everywhere, even one of your parents having an allergy is a good excuse to get rid of a dog but shedding, thats just plain laziness, and bad parenting if you ask me.

All you need to do is use the right brush and the shedding will be cut down tenfold....

If you're under 18 and have the ability to have your criminal record wiped clean when you become an adult then your options are wide open. I like the idea from the guy who said to fake your own death. You could mix up some fake blood (corn syrup and red food coloring) and make it look like you just slit your wrists. Having your parents find you laying on the bathroom floor in a pool of blood, next to a knife, will be a nice surprise for them. Feel free to hide a video cammera in the bathroom if you want to become an internet legend. If that's too involved, or you'd preferr to get back at them without them knowing it was you, sugar in the gas tank is a classic.

The average age of this forum must be something close to 11. If what I'm reading is correct, there must've been some kind of lack of responsibility going on with the animal to where it reached this point. I highly doubt it was just "Oh, dog hair, well, she's gotta go". Especially along with the whole "I didn't believe they'd actually do it" thing. Probably after repeated warnings as parents do.

Dude, that's really effed up... sorry, man. :(  I know what it's like having pets die, but having your parents give it away... that just sucks.

The thing that I would do; don't be super annoying and everything. That just shows how immature you are. I've done this before, and it worked very well for me. Only the very strong can do this. Just cut them out. If your dog was so important to you, show your parents that she IS more important than them. Just cut them out. Don't provoke conversation. Don't be disobedient. Just show no love. Muahahahaha.

Make both of your parents think the other is having an affair... Or maybe just one. Can't make it too obvious that it's fake.

Dude I know how you feel but try thinking rationally, If your father is sick then it is a less of  burden on the household now that the dog is gone. But hey cheer up time heals all wounds

Dude that is seriously messed up. I had great respect for your parents before this, but I have lost it all -- its frankly irresponsible to do something like this to your kid.
 
My parents hated my dog... they complained about the shedding every day for his 15 year life. He died recently and my parents are much happier now, but they never had the nerve to give him away.

If you weren't cleaning up the dog hairs then it was their right to get rid of it.  I feel no sympathy.

Sorry to hear that man, I know what you mean about being a friend I love my dog.  I'm living away so i don't really see my dog, but if I knew i'd never see him again I'd be devastated. 

dude, that fucking sucks, same happened to me when I was younger, I had a beautiful german shepherd and my parents gave it away, the worse part is that I actually had to go with my mom when we took Rambo to his new home. :( I'm really really sorry for your loss dude. :'(

On the surface and without knowing the circumstances I have to say it sounds like part of the story is missing, unless your parents truly are just Huge Dicks you had to do something to provoke this. If not sorry dude that sucks that you have such heartless parental units. ( I call them that because if they really did this they are clearly robots with no souls)

That shit sucks man...I had 4 pets die in the space of 3 years in my younger years...it was pretty terrible.  I love my pets.  Anyways, my heart goes out to you, I know how it feels.
