I've been getting more and more games over the months. After i got my bros ps3 for 65$ i made my mind up to never trade in a game unless i hate it. I looked back on all the awsome games i had. But then i ask...where did they go? Gone! gave them away! sold,trade,lent ect but its all the same they are gone.

The future is cloud gaming and digital downloads. My guess is hard copies have maybe 10 years left to life. In the future there will be no real collections. None at all just short cuts on some kind of computing machine.

Every game you buy will be locked down. Hate the game? guess what! you can't get any of your money back.... want to lend a game to a friend? guess what! you can't! you want to trade a game with a friend? yep thats right you can't.

I'm not rich these days...... so i don't feel like buying every single gaming platform there is. I mean come on 3 consoles an android console coming out mobile ios and android phones and tablets and gaming pcs that need upgrades every 2-3 years or they run new games like poop.

I Just feels like the gaming hardware never stops. Wii u coming out in a few months then the ps4 and nextbox are down the road as well. My pc could use some upgrades. I love gaming but its needs so much hardware.

I only want one more two platforms to game on next gen. I like mods and custom content on the pc. But do i really want to buy a machine that will just end up aging faster then solid snake? Or should i settle down with a console that will last me 6 years or so but have to do with locked down games and poo graphics.

How do you guys decide what to buy and what not to? I hate the idea of missing out of exclusives but buying all this hardware needs to stop.

It seems ever since the xbox all western gamers want to play are shooters. The FPS has become what platformers were back in the 80-mid 90s. It's making gaming seem violent and immature. When will the fps die? Will it last forever?

I think the reason FPS is so popular for devs is its easy. It does not take much imagination to make a first person shooter.

Im not saying FPS games are bad but the market is bursting at the seems with them. Many older gamers hate the turn gaming has gone.

Women tend to not be turned on be violence like men are. So they tend to stay far away from most games young men play. So i worry that the FPS could alienate gamers now and in the future.

People will grow up and many could leave gaming. So how long can devs keep making the same games?

I do love some of the games i grew up with. My first system was the SNES. I was to young to play NES before the Snes came out. I was around 3 or 4 so that was like 20 years ago now yes im old.

I feel Retro gamers hype old games so much more then they deserve. Yes they were fun and i do agree gaming has lots some of its charm. But Gaming today is way better. We get some much more for the money. Deeper stories,huge worlds amazing graphics and so on.

Yet people like the game over thinker act as if gaming today is awful and soooooooo much better back then.

What i think killed consoles most for retro gamings would be the XBOX. IT really pulled in lots of FPS fanboys and got ports from the pc. After XBOX live it seemed everyone had to play fps games.

What do you think will replace the FPS? I feel the reason why devs love it so much is due to it being easy to make then being original and they know thats all western gamers care about these days.

Do you feel that old games are so much better then today? If so why do you feel this way?

Once i discovered creepypasta it really stuck with me. Some of these stories get under your skin and chill you down to the bone. There just something about it that really gets to you!

A picture much like this one is said to have driven people insane. Back in the early days of the internet a few people came a cross this evil sinister picture. After seeing it they were haunted by this image. Its all they could see every night in their dreams staring into their souls.

you may not find it scary but im just spreading the word.

What is the point in owning a console or a gaming pc when you can play on the cloud? Yes right now the market is not ready for it. But 10 years down the road why not? I have used onlive and gaikai for a while now. Onlive is a bit laggy and the picture can be a bit blurry. But gaikai runs so smooth on my pc it feels like im playing an online game. very little lag on my pc maybe because their data centre is closer.

I feel the future of gaming will be like on demand tv. every company will have their own channel you can play games on for a fee. I love hard copies but this looks like its the future to me.

I get 18mbps down that's not uber fast but psn is so slow. It took me ages to download walking dead ep two. It was only like 800mbs so that should have been no problem. I went to the store and came back only to find the download was only 40%.

They are starting to sell full games on psn store. I think uncharted is like 20gbs if it took me like 1-2 hours to finished 800mbs when 20gbs would take me like all week.

They better make it faster for ps4.

I have heard others cry about it as well so its not just me.

Many times, when i see people say "pc gaming is expensive" I often see people try to show them a cheap custom rig. However i have seen many of these so called "gaming pcs" Be either very weak and low quality or some times not even usable.

They do things such as leaving out windows use ultra low end psu,cases,motherboards ect.

Have you guys ever seen this?

Most PC gamers are not like this. But you may run into one who is so dedicated to pc he may try to bend the truth a little.

I also kinda find the Idea funny of comparing an OEM to a custom machine. Part of the cost of a console or a oem pc is the price it takes to put it together.

I have used some cheap parts in my pcs over the years. I got two dead PSU and one dead mother board. If your going to be using a powerful machine you should always make sure you don't cut corners!

Yes you don't need a uber pc to game on the pc. Some people make it out to be that a 350$ pc can max out everything at 1600p with x24AA and be good for years. Exaggerations can be kinda dangerous if the person you are trying to help does not know what they are doing.

Pc gaming is pretty much dead retail wise. Only place i see pc games as at bestbuy. Eb games has one shelf filled with old games in the back of the store.

Steam has a large fan base, because it did things right. But i feel people are far to loyal to the valve company. I remember when BF3 came out people were screaming " no steam no buy". Let me get this straight, you wont buy a game you have been waiting for because you cant use your favorite store? That is just insane and fanboyish.

Steam has 80% the digital market which pretty much means they own pc gaming. Power turns companies and people into monsters. As steam takes more and more of the market they will become less friendly.

Steam sales might not be as good as they were. No reason to drop prices when your the only store in town. they may also ban people from their accounts for any reason. Imagine you have 1000$ on games on steam and one day they block you from their network. Its over for you you cant play those games on steam servers anymore.

Digital copies gives publishers huge power. Steam is basically a DRM software that locks down the games.

I came here because i got ban from my fav game fourm game spot and game trailers. I feel both reasons i was kicked out were so unjust its not funny. I got ban from game trailers from posting a creepypasta. Creepypasta are scary urban legends posted online. One of them is the lavender town syndrom which is a creepy song in pokemon that was said to hurt kids and their gameboys.

At the very bottom of that page the odd person got adds with naked chicks on it. I did not see it while i was there so i got ban for it. I told the mod is was a misunderstanding but he said i did it to troll. To me this was a very offensive due to the fact i maybe had 1 or 2 moderations on my history over years of being there.

I then got ban from gamespot shortly after for having a picture of Mario in my sig. Yes that it! Nothing about it at all was offensive in anyway.

So now im here making a new start. Im not a troll so lets hope they don't come up with some dumb random reason to get rid of me here to.
