The death penalty in hollow knight is extremely limited. It does add tension, but can be easily bypassed and the spirit can be easily found again. Its like the dark souls soul system, except you dont lvl up with them. So the loss of currency is a setback,but never gamebreaking or tragic. The times i actually losta meaningfull amount and failed to retrieve it can be counted on 1 hand.
Also how the map works is critical to the game and adds to the tension and enjoyment,but ill leave writing a paragraph about that for someone else .
With @alex being so negative (perhaps rightfully) about the combat i would have liked if he at least showed off some of the combat. Or at least better articulate why he deemed it so poor.
That said, I really appreciate and enjoy Alex's embrace of strategy games. I can really see Alex go 100% in on crusader kings 3, when that comes out in like 8 years.
Ben saying (and thinking) that frogs only have 2 legs/no arms seems like a 100% Dan moment. I place it between cooking eggshells and not knowing what pirates did.
Also DON'T shoot off fking fireworks in the woods! And don't advise people to shoot off fireworks in the woods. Anymore of this and i'm going to call Ben Westcoast Dan.
