From what ive read the main complaint about the game is that it sucked to review because it has so much to offer. Which is no different then origins except Alex played that over months instead of days. Having to finish/rush an enormous game before review deadline and have it deminish the enjoyment seems like a bigger criticism of the review process than the game itself.
Will listen to the podcast tomorrow, perhaps that has more nuanced criticism.
Disclaimer:
I usually really enjoy Alex's reviews. And no i don't have any usiboft or assassin's creed tattoos.
Did @benpack just say he was surprised a game with a lot of English text in it was made in Germany? I thought i heard that correct. That seems like....a slightly ignorant statement to put it politely?
I mean i have never heard an German tourist over the age of 50 speak even a single word of English, but i feel like most younger Germans are pretty proficient in English.
This is a great game! Also its cheap, like 15 euro! No im not a dev, i just think this is an amazing game! #imnotadev #ascension19 #over400hoursplayed #stillnotadev.
And so we finally find out who would be el presidente Jeff's executioner who would carry the might murderslingshot(tm). Knowing it would be Dan wielding this mighty weapon, i also rescind my endorsement for Jeff's campaign.
I personally think a normal written review is way more usefull and special than this format. This just felt like bombcast talk 1.5 and no review. Even for games that i know in not interested in or not going to buy i still like to read at least 2 or 3 paragraphs of the review. This form of the written review holds almost no useful/interesting information or well argued points. 75% of it might as well be the text on a store page. An hour long discussion/ interview might be a nice supplement, but it doesn't hold the same value for me. it feels like pleasant added fluff, not a worthy replacement.
If the trade off for having the all systems goku podcast is Jeff getting arrested in a year or 2 for wearing nothing but that hat and hoodie at a pax/anime con.. That is a sacrifice i'm willing to make.
Just to put a halt to all the good vibes(because someone has to). while i think Alex is a great and wonderfull human being, plus we might be pill brothers. I do prefer some more chaos and tangents in my podcasts. The Garry Whitta bombcast was the best bombcast in a long time because that man really knows how to broaden a conversation. I prefer my beastcast 3hours+ long with full speed wild detours of a burning bridge to nowhere.
