@bdrtfm: hence the problem with the absurdly broken 10-point scale as interpreted by gamers: You think a game that doesn't even launch properly should get a 4. Instead of, I don't know, 0.

I am sweating from all the blisteringly hot takes in this comments thread.

Maybe he just didn't like the game all that much guys! It happens!

@billyok: What does anything that person said have to do with GameSpot?

To be fair, Dan has always been super enthusiastic about big brand stuff. He can't tweet at and shill Taco Bell or WWE or Doritos more than he already does. Makes sense that he'd love this game.

And Brad always jumps on the bandwagon.

Have you ever read the comments below a Gamespot review of a console exclusive? It's manchildren accusing the reviewer of being bought off by whichever company benefits from the good/bad review by the metrics of their insane console war math. That comment reminded me of that. Also, was a joke.

I've been feeling less and less confident about a lot of the content posted lately, even some of the UPF's feel sponsored at this point. Perhaps it was always that way, maybe it was just less blatant, or maybe I'm just being unrealistic with my expectations. With that said, I've found it difficult to watch.

Gamespot's commenters have found the Giant Bomb tab. My fears realized.

I'd been holding out hope that Dan wasn't the self absorbed, morally bankrupt piece of crap he was pretending to be, but this episode has laid that dream to rest. What a horrible human being.

This is some quality pearl-clutching.

Giant Bomb community once again hysterically upset while Dan's "victims" continue to not be too terribly bothered. How often does this happen, once every three shows or so? What a strange place.

Congratulations to Microsoft on focus-grouping, gutting and closing yet another brilliant studio. And for making a complete mess of the Xbox name after it had basically figured console gaming out.

Who's to say Fable Legends was being managed properly and the game stood out from others? Evolve, a game within the 4 v 1 multiplayer genre, didn't exactly set the world on fire last year.

If Fable Legends wasn't doing enough to differentiate itself from Evolve, was over-budget and didn't really carry the already-rubbish "Fable" name out of the dirt I can't see any reason why this project wouldn't be scrapped.

My issue in my original comment centers around the existence of Fable Legends at all. I'm not mad it got scrapped -- I'm disappointed it was ever conceived. I doubt it was being managed properly because I doubt anyone responsible for Lionhead's original incarnation, as a developer of really weird and distinctive games, was still around to give a crap about a focus-grouped watering down of an already watered-down franchise. What happened to Lionhead was a shame long before what happened today. That studio has been a shadow of its original self for years.

This sounds like the survival game I've been waiting for. No offense meant to the 300 Steam Early Access set-in-the-woods games that will never feel finished.
