@sarumarine: @efesell: my only problem with a giant pizza cutter is that it's essentially only one weapon. Why would you ever use the other mode when it's the other one is a giant pizza cutter?
Yeah pretty much all the DLC weapons are really great. The bowblade was the standout for me. Having a weapon that can do a ton of damage at a distance really changes the entire game and breaks it at some spots.
@mmarsu: My new game ++++ axe hunter says you're wrong. It's poise damage alone makes it my favorite weapon. That two hand charge attack is soooooooo good. If you get parry times down, you are unkillable. Simon's bowblade is a close second.
I might give this a try a year or two down the line when I forgetten this quicklook. This looks like a middling but unoffensive game. Its a shame. I like what Gust has done in the past. I really liked Atelier Escha and Logy. This seems to have some of the same problems as that game. The story isn't great but the gameplay is just good enough to keep you going.
Man a lot of the members of this site REALLY need to find some friends. If man cant be a dick to his friend in a competitive setting, I don't want to be alive anymore. Dan also gets massive enjoyment out of being a heel. I love a good heel. It really makes me more invested in seeing the heel's face smashed in the dirt or joining the dark-side and rooting for the heel. I feel this comment section would be a whole lot different if Jason won that last match.
I still really, really don't understand Brad's "downward trajectory" thing with inFamous. That first game was ROUGH and took me literal years to slog my way through. 2 and the Halloween one were significantly better in controls, pace and graphical design and Second Son was easily far and away the best game in the series. The sheer variety of moves and the incredible movement speed and feel were a giant step up from the lame electricity powers of Cole. Baffling.
I 100% agree with you. I had avoided Second Son because of the tepid opinions of the guys on this site, but I bought it on sale from PSN last week. I think that game is easily the best of the 3. That game just feels good to play. The movement was so fast and fun I forgot there was fast travel. You feel powerful without being OP. Delsin is also a HUGE step up from the block of wood that is Cole.
