@noobsauce: I would say you're not really the target market honestly. This is playing to nostalgia and looking to bring in old fans that maybe haven't played a Final Fantasy since the original launch of 7. If you're not interested in jrpgs this isn't the game to convince you.
I'm also not asking them to have a doctorate in jrpgs to discuss this, it would just be nice to have someone who actually enjoys jrpgs in on videos like this. There's a reason Alex quick looks the sports games, because he enjoys sports. They bring Bakalar in for NHL quick looks because he likes hockey. This video feels like they covered it because they felt they had to since it's a big launch but no one is actually interested.
@belgo: It's just a bummer there's no one on staff with a lot of knowledge or appreciation for jrpgs so you get videos like this of 3 people with a passing interest at best not remembering much about the game and dunking on it for an hour. Thankfully Vinny is around for wrpg coverage, I really enjoyed his thoughts on Baldur's Gate III from the Beastcast.

In his defense though he did say it's been a while and he didn't really seem to dig the series as much post Dark Tournament so makes sense he would tune out a bit. I'd consider Naruto one of my favorite series but my memory becomes very hazy around the War Arc and Kaguya, etc. because it just wasn't as fun to read anymore.
I think the Dark Tournament is a bit overrated and Chapter Black/Three Kings are vastly underrated. Three Kings especially I didn't care for when I watched it originally as a kid because I wanted the characters to go out in a bombastic DBZ style over the top way with the universe at stake. Re-watching it recently now that I'm older I really appreciate how it gave each character a sense of closure and peace, allowing them to find happiness in their own ways and not be stuck as the perpetual heroes waiting for the next big bad to arrive.
@benpack You should go back and watch The Three Kings arc from YYH to refresh your memory. It's relatively short and I liked it much better on a second viewing.

Agreed, it weirds me out when the GB crew dunk on streamers when that's exactly what GB has become now. I've never heard of MatPat before this but he seemed totally fine and can you blame him for being excited to have the opportunity to speak at a keynote like this? Honestly GBW could use some energy, Rorie/Business Dave bring the heat but overall it's been lacking since Dan moved.
@chummy8: You can play through it solo for sure. The Incursions (raids) from the last game had matchmaking so I'd assume this one will as well if you wanna give that a shot after clearing the campaign and all the story missions have matchmaking. There's lots of endgame activities you can do by yourself too it'll just take you a bit longer to gear up.
