I certainly respect the opinions of the people who consider UPF to be a specific format, but as someone not religiously devoted to the segment I always thought of UPF as just a "whatever happens, shit happens" wind down for the week. I had a lot of fun watching Jan try to learn the ropes of the game on the fly, but that is from the perspective of someone who actually understands what's going on in the game.

No I don't think boycotting works but as others mentioned, more air time for this is not the answer to what's been happening.
It's not especially difficult to recognise and appreciate that the core gameplay of Overwatch 2 is a smart, compelling package with nips and tucks that make it a meaningfully different experience from Overwatch 1, while recognising that the UX elements that they changed surrounding that core range from mediocre to awful. Tamoor actually recently made a (Gamespot?) video about this very thing, and it's not like the UPF didn't literally start with them poohpoohing the battle pass lol
Just as an FYI, the Netflix presentation of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is Very Good but I'm pretty sure Netflix was straight up missing a whole part when I rewatched it (Golden Wind). I don't know if that might be a regional issue though. My guess is that something in Crunchyroll's contract gave them distribution rights to that specific chapter for some period of time
Golden Wind so far seems the most tangential to the dynastic storytelling of the franchise so it could be arguably considered optional viewing but it also sets some minor ground rules about powers and stuff, so maybe worth checking.
Watching this combat feels like looking at a better Platinum game being played back at like... 0.8x speed. I feel like if all the animations were way faster the game might actually click in a way that feels fun. Watching the hang time on the air attack animations is so ludicrously slow and long where a marquee Platinum title would have been much faster and snappy.
It'd be a complete shitshow for a 4 player game, but it could still mean fun
The Episode 6 cut of Roundabout was the moment that I was truly sold on the show. Up until that point I was kind of just... mildly entertained by the ludicrous playground logic of all the fighting, but the guitar refrain transitioning into Zeppeli accepting his fate showed me that the series was capable of a depth of (simple, but genuine) emotion despite being mostly a vehicle for dumb nonsense.
I've watched all of the seasons of JoJo at this point, but this one specific version of the ED is still a very vivid high point in my memory of my time with the series.
It's fun to hear The Words Have Been Said, but yeah knowing the very stable and not at all tenuous nature of game development, I'm not holding my breath for a New Vegas 2 anytime
