Thanks for posting this. I should have mentioned that I wasn't the creator of the work and I apologize for not saying so. I would have responded to the original comments, but I didn't have a chance to return to the site since I posted it so I didn't see them. I sincerely didn't have any intention to make it seem like I was plagiarizing @graboids unbelievably amazing work. I happened to have this saved as desktop wallpaper and quickly uploaded it as a response and in my haste figured that everyone would have recognized this (like the infamous Ryan Davis relationship hotline art) since it got such a huge response originally. Again, I apologize to all, especially @graboids!
Peak Chatty Rorie! Sorry I talked a bunch, but hey!
It's all good! I loved it... and then rushed to the Giant Bomb Emporium and bought an Old Games t-shirt and the pint/shot glass combo to drink with when I play Totally Accurate Battle Simulator.
This was a fun UPF though Crawl ran a little long. The worst thing about this week's show are the whiners in the comments... Polite constructive criticism is one thing, but give me break. Anyway, more GB Battlegrounds please!
I get that "taste" can ruin the message in a piece of art, but if the devs thought they were using racism and stereotypes for social commentary then they dropped the ball here because they're coming off like poseurs making a contrived "Hey, look at us! We 'get' the 80s!" kind of joke rather than an insightful or meaningful observation about the era. And if someone is like "Just lighten up, racist and stereotype language in art doesn't need be insightful or meaningful" then that's a sign of privilege and a lack of empathy right there.
I wonder how old these devs really are, their nationalities and religions, and where/when they grew up.
