XCOM: Enemy Unknown is a remake of the 1994 game UFO: Enemy Unknown. The game starts you off with 4 soldiers and you have to lead the soldiers into positions to kill aliens. The combat is tough to get down at first but easy once you get a good strategy going. Also outside of combat is really complex. You have to balance a budget, buy facilities, buy items for combat, do research on things found in combat, and many other things. One of the most popular game series returns with another 2 more guaranteed. The game doesn't feel much different from the originals which most fans will appreciate. The campaign is just as lengthy as the originals as well. The multiplayer runs like Halo Reach with a couple new qualities but not enough to make it feel any different. For the most part this game is pretty great. It takes a further step into feeling like an rpg compared to the first one. You constantly pick up armor, weapons, and accessories for your character. The game starts off like it will be really long because there are 4 areas to go through and the first one is pretty much just as big as the first game but as you get further each area starts to get smaller and smaller. I have been playing Mass Effect since the first one. The first set the bar high but they just kept getting better. I thought Mass Effect 3 would be the same but that changed when I got to the end. I've put a lot of hours into the story which was the best I've seen in any game. I cared for the characters like it was a TV show but they couldn't deliver the ending I was looking for. I've beaten this game over 10 times and haven't gotten bored. There are so many weapons, armor, and other accessories to collect that game takes days to accomplish. There is only one difficulty; really hard. Once you learn the basics it's pretty simple though. Bosses and enemies are challenging. Areas are massive and take really long to explore. I went into this game knowing little and as soon as I started playing I got a Bioshock feel. The game is much less linear though. There are different ways to complete objectives and many different approaches. You can play the whole game by murdering everyone or play stealthy and try to not get caught through the entire game.
