You control this game by blinking in a VR headset, a truly innovative experience that also had me crying in said headset. One of the best gaming experiences of the year. The story it tells is impactful and powerful.

What a lovely early year surprise this was. Hi-Fi Rush is distilled gaming to its core, a very enjoyable musical experience that was entertaining from start to finish. I love this game.

Usually I hate mechs, but these mechs go really fast and fire huge guns. Controlling the mechs in this game is buttery smooth, and the spectacle around the huge boss fights is very impressive.

Bonus number 11 shoutout to the Freelancer mode they added to Hitman this year. This is the the thing that finally made Hitman click for me, it was so much fun to play. I really enjoyed trying to string together a run through these missions. Hitman is a fantastic stealth game, one of the best ever made.
