GB East totally had this game up until Dan Ryckert fiddled with the connection. East went from a ping around 4-8 and ended up with like a 78 ping and West still had a perfect ping after the server "accident".
I was expecting DOOM to be Jeff's number 1 game of the year. So to see that it is 4 on his list is already surprising and seeing Hitman over Doom is even more surprising. I knew he really liked Titanfall 2 but never thought he liked it over DOOM. A lot of surprises in the placing of the games in this list. The games themselves is not so much a surprise but the order of them definitely are.
I'm ready. Let's do this. I expect the discussion will get heated and I like it when it gets intense. As long as someone doesn't get glory killed I'm okay with some intense moments.
Things got real in this one. I loved Vinny's reaction to the Mass Effect 2 cut.
It definitely got a little tense at times but remember that they don't mean anything personal about it. Some of my favorite parts of the GOTY podcasts are when they discuss really passionately about the games they love.
Edit: That being said I think it's pretty dissapointing to see all the hate for Inside. It was definitely one of the coolest/craziest moments for me in a game I played this year. I feel like people only react so strongly against it because it got on the list. Inside definitely deserves all the praise it has recieved.
There is so much great stuff coming out from GB these days but I don't think this one is for me. I have never really found it that entertaining to watch Gears horde mode being played by others. I might just save this one for a rainy day and leave it on in the background while I do other stuff.
Tomorrows videos seem more fun and interesting to me.
Ludonarrative Dissonance is great and I’m glad that Nathan Drake literally murdered all of those men and women and is now the world’s most notorious murderer/adventurer.
Fuckin' A!
I hated it a few years ago when it was considered cool to throw the sentence "Ludonarrative Dissonance" around. A lot of games would sure be boring if you didn't run around and shot bad duders left and right. Also U4 has a trophy called "Ludonarrative Dissonance". I think you get it once you've killed a thousand enemies or something like that. I laughed out loud when I got that trophy.
Also love that "The Revenant" burn at the end. It's an amazing movie on a technical level and Tom Hardy's performance is fucking fantastic, if anything he should have gotten an oscar, but on a emotional level that movie really didn't do anything for me. I ended up being way more interested in Hardy's character than Leo's mainly because of his performance. If anything I think "The Revenant" is Tom Hardy's movie and not Dicaprio's.
