how did L4D2 not even make it into the runners up for co-op? it makes no sense

I never thought anyone would buy an online multiplayer game to play it offline with bots, I find that quite stupid in fact.  
 
Battlefield 2 with bots sucked ass.  
 
And bots ruined Star Wars: Battlefront and Battlefront 2
