Im saying it: that popular era of Rush? The Moving Pictures time frame? It sucks. Songs got disjointed messes compositionally and Geddy Lee went from a real great rock octave to this flat tinny whine. Tom Sawyer is straight garbage.
Now, before that era and the Vapor Trails -> beyond era? Good shit. Hard and intricate, which I like. I'm surprised you don't like them at all, Dan.
I feel they should borrow Mary from Gamespot for two weeks to fill in for Jason and Drew. I suppose the setup is different but having an actual video producer person on hand has to be better than Jeff or Dan fumbling through setting up live streams and quick looks.
This is the most 90's things I've seen in a good long while. Also why would the magazine hide a bunch of their content behind codes for a demo disc, seems counter intuitive.
It was still an era where "cheat codes" were a big deal. Finding hidden stuff was fun. When I was running the fan site, it was like a race for some people as they would try to find all the stuff and send in what they found to get it added to the site. If you want some spoilers, I have them listed on the PlayStation Underground page.
Also, the weird caricature that Drew found was of Michelle Vercelli. She was a member of the marketing team.
And of course, it still is, but now we gotta deal with wierdos freaking out when they found out something was hidden, ruining it for the rest of us due to publishers listening to the squeaky wheels. :(
