Yes, the controls are tight, but that's part of the reason why I don't enjoy the gameplay. They're almost too tight. Too many times have I used a super move in the wrong direction because my thumb moved the right stick a fraction of a millimeter in the opposite way, or other times when I meant to shoot downwards, but dropped down to my death on a lower platform because that too requires you to hold down (yes I know...these are bad points and I should just 'git gud' as the young kids would say).

I don't get what you're trying to say here. You acknowledge at the end of the paragraph that the problem lies with you not being able to execute, but still chastise the game for having good controls. What exactly would you want to change?

@coryukin: Here's a 2015 Kotaku piece about an E3 meeting with the dev in question, and his pro-GamerGate views, with direct quotes.

Thanks for the link! He doesn't come off as someone who is racist or sexist like the vast vast majority of gamergate people, he even said he agrees with Anita Sarkessian on some things. Just someone who is a bit naive about what GamerGate turned into and the kinds of people who hijacked the movement. Instead of realizing that he should have distanced himself from that movement, he became more entrenched on keeping it about what he believed it should be about. He doesn't seem to be someone that fully fits either side of the usual political dichotomy.

@impartialgecko: You have a source? I'd like to play this game, but may not if what you're saying is actually true about him being a racist.

@wemmick:Hey, thanks for taking the time to look into this duder. I'm using Firefox version 58.0 and the add-on I'm using is CanvasBlocker.

The add-on just shows a fake readout is being made when it receives a call from the Canvas API.

For those of you who don't know or are confused about what Canvas Fingerprinting is. This is a technology that is being used by websites and ad companies to track you across the web - this technology is replacing cookies. It is a form of tracking that is nearly unblockable; the best you can hope to do to prevent Canvas Fingerprinting is to give the Canvas Fingerprinting fake information through a browser extension.

Canvas Fingerprinting is a way of serving you targeted ads and tracking your activities across the web even through a VPN, ad blocker, or an extension like Ghostery. Ad companies use your "fingerprint" to construct a profile of what you do on the web and sell this to people. They can detect what websites you visit, how long you stay on a page, and what you click on. I am unnerved that GiantBomb is canvas fingerprinting premium users because we pay to support GiantBomb and not be served ads - that promise doesn't really hold water if they still use your information to serve ads.

A short video explaining it a bit more:

A longer video from Microsoft research on it.

Also, a screenshot of GB fingerprinting

I received a notification from one of my browser add-ons that Giantbomb was attempting to fingerprint/canvas me. I really don't find this acceptable at all to do to premium users. If this is standard practice of the ad company that CBSi uses, then I'm sure there isn't much you duders can do about it - but still, sort of unnerving. I really hope you, or CBSi, are not further monetizing users which are already paying fifty dollars a year to support GB. Is this information being monetized? And if so, why?

Edit: for those of you unfamiliar with canvas fingerprinting, a short explanation is below

I don't think I was very clear in the initial post so, I will try to state it more clearly. I do not think that premium users should be monetized in this way(if our fingerprinted profile is being sold). We already pay to support GiantBomb and pay for an ad free environment. Creating a profile of my browsing habits to sell and serve me targeted ads when you have already once monetized my membership, I feel, is a bit disingenuous. I hope that nothing is being done with those fingerprinted profiles, but I feel like it would be nice to know if GB does further monetize premium users.

In 2008 I was a Junior in college and followed Gerstmann and Davis to Arrow Pointing Down and then GiantBomb. I had been a follower of Gerstmann and Gamespot since middle school/high school - I listened to the first episode of the Hotspot and watched the first episode of The Spot!

I was also an assistant manager of an amazing Gamestop - we for real had amazing customers and cool not shit head employees in my college town. And I threw some fucking awesome fighting game tournaments every other month at the store - which became huge. Like, we would have 50-100 people hanging outside of the Gamestop waiting for their turn on some weekends. I have some great memories of that time in my life and met lots of cool duders.

@humanity: I'm really surprised you would say that. I played Paradise again last year and was amazed at just how well it has aged. Maybe playing it on PC makes a difference though.
