A thing that hasn't been mentioned in this discussion, but the timing is certainly interesting, is the GI.biz report that Xbox are basically pulling out of physical in Europe. So if they're pivoting, it feels like a big one.

Also, because I was curious, I checked the online store for where a lot of collector's editions etc get sold in Sweden, because that's the big chain that focuses on games I could think of (Game and GameStop have both left the Nordics).

Xbox Series games, including upcoming, available in their catalogue: 67

PS5 games: 180

SOMETHING is up

@ben_h:

Must make line go up by not paying employees and charging them more for everything! It'll work, I promise!

Is Netflix even sustainable yet? Or are they gonna cut their animation division some more and throw another 100 million at a movie that reviews worse than Jupiter Ascending?

What residuals can Warner Bros get out of by destroying content forever?

The entire industry seems completely screwed, in large part because maybe streaming doesn't actually make business sense, but now they can't put that genie back in the bottle either.

...if WBD wanted something that could compete with Netflix or Disney+, couldn't they just, I dunno, utilize their existing treasure trove of properties they own instead of killing off everything or licensing it to Netflix? I mean, I'm happy Batman: TAS is available somewhere, and at a service that seems to mandate proper subtitles even (so Netflix, Max sucks in this regard), but how about putting that shit on the service you own!?

Zaslav continues to be the dumbest guy in entertainment, and that's a ridiculously high bar!

@imunbeatable80:

That sounds pretty awful. I can totally imagine taking some risks to finish an objective and that leaving you completely screwed for the next thing too. Which just sounds tedious.

But yeah, thanks for the write-up

So Valkyria Chronicles is still the go-to for anime turn-based WW2 then. Good to know, I've been curious about this one.

Also, mid-mission twists almost always feel cheap. Sunrider: Mask of Arcadius loves them, and throwing a billion enemies at you, and not having anything that blocks line of sight (granted it takes place in space, but still). Sunrider also has no mechanic to let you replay levels, so if you realize you just did not spend your money correctly to beat a mission, or didn't earn enough on a previous mission because you didn't use the enemy carriers to farm enemies for money, that's it, game over, you're SOL.

So I guess I'm saying Operation Darkness could be worse?

Okay, I knew about the 2 phones thing, but that it took them a few days to get the controller app out is just hilarious to me. That's the Intellivision Amico for ya, I guess, always beating your expectations in the funniest way possible

Wow, that's a lot of money, I wonder how many "super games" you could get for that? Somewhere between 5 and 20?

Will they have all the hottest features like bedsheet deformation and heat-sensitive horse testicles?

I'm really curious about this one and what all that money went to, but given that it's Rockstar I expect the game will play like total ass while more canned animations than Dragon's Lair play out, but you can tell it's real-time because you can watch your characters' hair follicles grow while you try to figure out which button Rockstar decided to map reload to

@theonewhoplays: on the bright side, if you ever do buy MW3 all you'll need to download is like a 43kB unlock code or something?

Seriously, wow, what a hot mess.

It's almost like it was an expansion turned into a "full" game at the last minute. I wonder how many assets it would entirely share with MW2 that would cut down that install size.

As for the campaign, that's a shame, it sounds like it could have been something similar to Medal of Honor; Airborne, which actually has a really cool campaign
