My top list for 2014

It would have been hard to imagine in the start of this year that two of my favorite games would have been games based on a license. But the year as a whole felt a bit empty because of all the games that got pushed back. As a result though next year seems great and I am really looking forward to it.

List items

  • Just the amount of references to all those great episodes. The gameplay is amazing. I played this games through twice without getting bored. And considering that there probably won't ever be a sequel it's worth the purchase. And respect for Obsidian for not adding stupid Uplay stuff on the PC version.

  • Took the combat of Arkham games and combined with an amazing open-world. The nemesis system is great and has really made me hate some of those damn orcs. At least this year had one amazing thing based on the Lord of The Rings license.

  • Just a weird game I really liked. Great visual style. Also a perfect length game. Really fondly remember Kaptain Krunch (could be an awesome Mortal Kombat character ^^)

  • My first ever Mariokart. Really enjoyed it. Great Co-op game to play with friends. Could have been higher but I really don't like the bikes in this game ^^

  • An other great return of a franchise. The weapons feel really good and the levels as well as enemies look great. The action packed levels are well balanced against those slow moments.

  • Great return for the GRID franchise. Really reminded me of the old TOCA games. The different competition types are great and Codemasters has even added some new great types. The only exception is endurance racing, which I really dislike. The other minor problem is the handling which is still a little too arcade-y.

  • A very unique game that I really enjoyed. The story was excellent Had fun with the story. Even after completing it I occasionally go back to collect those collectibles and trying to beat my score at the challenges.

  • Great storytelling and I really liked the art style. It's also great that it has facts about the war as a type of collectible. I really like this game for that as I've always found history very interesting.

  • An amazing character-action game for the Wii U. some of the side characters are amazing. But haven't played enough of this for it to place any higher.

  • As the name states, it's a party game. Great in local co-op and thanks to that steam steaming thing it's possible to play this as an online game too. All are quite good but we've had the most fun with Drawful and Fibbage XL.
