I cannot believe my eyes!

The real life

For the past week or so I've been feeling horribly ill. Started with horrific stomach cramps and led into nausea the past few days. Went to the hospital to see a consultant just to make sure it wasn't anything serious, he assured me that I should be fine and it's just a bug or flu of some kind but I'm getting some tests done next week just to be sure! As if being ill wasn't bad enough deadlines are approaching rapidly. Coursework due in on Monday and I am really not ready to hand it in. I have a few late nights of working ahead of me, though it is my own fault as I did leave it pretty much to the last minute! Trust me to get sick during this time too!

Other than that life's been pretty dull. Nothing extremely exciting happening, especially when you are confined to your house for a full week and out of contact with other human beings! It's always the times when you don't see your friends for some time that you realise just how much they mean to you. Though thankfully via the wonders of the internet I haven't been lonely and they came to visit me today! (With a bill but yay nonetheless)

I had always known about Dr Horrible's Sing Along Blog, but for some reason never took the time out to watch it. Though seeing as I had so much time on my hands I would have been foolish not to. I have to say, that is one really awesome webseries! I actually went and bought the soundtrack I love it so much. Though that is a slight problem seeing as I've been singing songs from it non stop for the past 3 days. One of my favourites has to be "My Eyes" which Neil Patrick Harris and Felicia Day duet (Where the title of this blog post came from). I urge you, if you haven't yet seen  Dr Horrible's Sing Along Blog do it now and don't be put off by the fact that its about 40 minutes long as I first was.

While I'm talking about Youtube (Not something I tend to a lot) I also have a great love and respect for Shaycarl and his wonderful family and have been watching their daily vlogs for well over a month now. It's one of those things which just makes me feel really happy inside to see such a happy family and I love how their joy spreads to their many viewers.

Here on Giantbomb I've been active on the forums and I'm loving the new quest system! It's kinda silly and gimicky but that's what makes it fun right? When I don't have anything else to do I've been trying to complete quests so that I will become so well levelled that I can take on anything the world throws at me! Though what I don't really like is those short one line blogs people have been making just to complete their quest... It makes me sad, come on guys you have more pride than that do you not? Also I've been watching the VJ endurance run each and every day, I'll watch the BR one at a later date, I think that trying to watch the two together would be a bit much but still I am enjoying it so much! I loved the Persona 4 endurance run though never managed to keep up with it. Sofar I've been up to date each and every day with Deadly Premonition, here's hoping I can stick with that until the end!

The virtual life

Okay, enough of the real life crap, that's not what you are here to see. It's the video games, am I right?!

Well Chris, what have you been playing? As Ryan might say if I was on the bombcast?
Let's start with the biggie and work our way down! Final Fantasy 13! Today I finally got into chapter 11 and I can see that the world has really opened up as Brad said it  does, I can see myself being at this game forever. I do not see an end in sight and if I am to believe what i have heard it may in fact last forever. I bought FF13 at the same time as Heavy Rain. I thought, "Heavy Rain will be a high quality game but FF13 will last me a long time." I was right! I have been playing in half an hour chunks mostly with the occassional hour here or there. But I really do like the game, I've grown to love the characters, even Vanille and Hope have started to grow on me... although I still don't get Vanille's accent. To me it sounds like a rather inconsistent Australian/British/American/Something Else. Perhaps in another 20 hours I'll have it down!

Next is... Starcraft! Not Starcraft 2, just Starcraft! I missed out back in its glory days and picked it up a few months back, popped it in and thought. "It's been too long, I cannot possibly play this." and so I put it up on my shelf (Which I just organised today and it is looking rather good if I may say so myself!). A random urge had me throw it in and I don't regret it for one moment. I LOVE this game... I'm on the final Terran mission right now. Haven't really had the guts to go online yet, played a game against a friend and won which I was surprised as I can only just beat the computer. I don't think I'm ready for online play yet, I do believe I will get my ass handed to me!

Finally, (There are other games here and there but this is the last main one). Pokemon Soul Silver. When I heard they were making this game I was so excited. My favourite pokemon game to be remade on the DS in full glory! I wasn't disappointed at all, although I haven't played it quite as much as I thought I would have, I think I know I've done it all before so there is no urgency, but it's nice to just lay back in bed with the DS and have some Pocket Monster fun! (That sounded a little wrong...)

So, that's my blog for now... I actually enjoyed writing this, even though I'm sure barely anyone will read it, it's nice to get things off my mind and out into the world. I think I'll make a habit of it. Maybe not a daily blog, that would be a bit much for me... but twice a week, maybe three times! For anyone who actually read it all, I commend thee and thank thee greatly :)
