Patrick, you've always had such intelligent, immersive things to say about games, culture and more. Most of the time, I loved listening to you bring up topics that I would've never thought of on my own but that had me looking at things from fantastic new points of view. A few times, you were going on and on about some indie game I'd never heard of and I didn't get much from the conversation. But dammit, I always, ALWAYS respected how thoughtful and intelligent you were during discussions.

You're leaving a huge hole that is seemingly impossible to fill. A Patrick sized hole; a hole you carved out in Giant Bomb and established yourself in. It might not have seemed like it at the beginning, but you fit in so well.

You'll be so missed. I'll definitely be following you wherever you end up. Good luck, Scoops!

Is this pertaining to the results of the whole shindig? Alex isn't in the royal rumble portion, he faces the winner of the rumble.

I was aware that something special was going to happen on Saturday and that many believed they'd unlock the moon. It sounded cool but I had no idea (nor did anyone, I think) that there'd be a time limit attached to it. I just figured that it'd be available for the rest of the beta. Unfortunately missed out. I would have liked to check it out. I enjoyed my time in the beta.

@i_stay_puft: Thanks for posting the code! I somehow have been able to avoid getting a duplicate character so far and have like 15 now. Though I'm still unsure why I actually invested money in this game. I don't see the appeal after putting many hours into it. The loot draw doesn't grab me like Diablo does, especially considering your appearance doesn't change from new loot. And if the draw isn't new loot, what is it?

I'm interested in trying this but there don't seem to be many NA Xbox 360 codes floating around.

I remember I was at work scrolling through my twitter feed to see what I had missed since I went in to work. I came up to an Alex tweet first about it. I thought it was some kind of joke (a bad one). That's really all my mind could register at the moment. I couldn't even fathom that it could be real so I didn't even consider the chance that it was. Then I scrolled up some more and saw the other guys tweeting about the same thing and it hit me like a ton of bricks. I remember being frozen in place for a few moments when I should have been working. I didn't feel the full effect of it until I was off of work and taking it all in on my computer at home later. I did my best to explain the situation to my girlfriend who had only known him from watching a Bioshock Infinite ending video the website had done with all of the guys.

I like where Giant Bomb is today and still love these guys. I'll sometimes read people commenting on how it isn't the same since Ryan passed and I'll think "Eh, I don't know, GB is still pretty damn good". Then I'll listen to an old podcast or quick look or youtube highlight and... yeah. You know.

We miss you Ryan. So damn much. Rest in peace.
