You know, I was just playing Battlefield Heroes a moment ago. And I realized just how rude people can be these days. Now I'm not person to ruin the fun of playing around, but some people just take things way too far. They aren't messing around. They are intentionally intimidating you. And for what? Their amusement? It's real bullshit, and even though he eventually shut his damn mouth and left, I still have a problem with people like that. They are just bitching bitches that do nothing but bitch, and it really pisses me off. This blog post isn't just me whining to you, but it's... ok, you decide what it is. OTHER than whining. Please. Seriously.

So I was just playing Battlefield Heroes like I normally do. It was a few of my National friends playing around. All of a sudden, a Royal shows up. Which wasn't a problem, but he started causing problems. He kills me, so I leave for a minute to get some stuff to play serious. And then I start killing him a bunch, and he starts whining. He's saying how it's not fair because I was stealthed (I was playing as a Commando, as usual). So I politely explained how he could of prevented his death. And I killed him again. And twice more. Now, I didn't say anything annoying or offending that would've made him mad, but he starts going off. He calls me a noob, even though he's the noob getting killed over and over again. And then starts talking about how I can't run a clan (because I recently started, and ended one). And he says I don't have a life because I couldn't run it. I tell him that I have more important things in life than video games and running a clan, but he just won't stop bitching. Eventually, I tell him off and he leaves, but he just didn't seem to get it.

And this is one of many times I've come across people like this, both online and offline. People like this just really annoy me. They bitch at you and try to degrade you, and all just to make you feel bad. Or in this case, make them feel better about themselves. While I certainly don't mind joking around, stuff like this just goes too far. It's inentional, it's offensive, and it's just crap. Crap that I get tired of every day. Just go to my school for a day, and see everybody trying to pick on the nerds and people who can't defend themselves, intentionally. No mercy. (Which is not me, by the way.) It's very far that we've come this far and are like this. Once again, joking around is ok and fine with me, but when you intentionally try to degrade someone like that, it's not funny, and it's bullshit.

I don't know why people do this. Why do they want to pick on people? What do they gain from it? In the end, they gain nothing, but someone could lose everything. I've just gotten tired of it, and I wanted to get it off my back and share it with some people. It might not change, but it needs to stop to some point. That's what I think.

I had this happen just a few minutes ago. I was playing Team Snipers in Halo 3 with a fairly crappy team. This guy on my team started cursing and swearing and telling me how garbage I was (I was carrying the team). I got so annoyed I started shooting him to make him easy for the other team to finish off. :p While not exactly mature, it made me feel better. haha

Surely you have heard of bullies, right. You know, those assholes you are complete rejects in life, and find solace in being assholes to others? Well, the internet is home to a fuck load of them. Have a laugh at their expense, I do.

I hate shit like that. Back when I was attempting to tentatively get into the Source mod Insurgency, I joined a game and the only slot left was sniper, so I took it. Some whiny elitist douchebag started screaming over the voice chat about 3 minutes later that someone stole his sniper slot, and that he only left it to go assault and save all of our noob asses. I was then permenantly banned from the server and kicked. What the fuck.

The internet is made of people who act like 12 year old boys for one reason, people keep reacting like you did. Yes it's annoying, yes it makes you want to hunt them down and castrate them, but they only do it becasue they can get a rise out of people. They think its funny to make people mad. They spend all day getting picked on and bullied at school or shit on at work when they grow up, so they get angry and mad. So they learn to associate that act of treating other people like shit to be a feeling of power and respect over others, and they purse that feeling the only way they are able to in their life. They log onto a game and be a douche. It's sad but until everyone, and i do mean everyone, learns to just ignore those people they will keep doing it becasue they know they can get that 5-10 min fix of feeling like they are more powerful then someone else. And that's the only reason they do it. They want that little 5-10 min fix that they get once a day to feel like they have some control over something in their shitty life....

I am going to have to disagree with you, it sounds like you had it coming.
He was just trying to play a game and have fun, then all of the sudden he kills you ONCE. You then go out and kill him, and only him, over and over again. Then he starts complaining about how you keep killing him.
What did you expect? If you are playing a game, then all of the sudden some guy is singling you out and killing you, and only you. wouldn't you get mad too?
Sure this guy is a noob, but hey, we were ALL noobs at one point or another, and Battlefield heroes is a free game, so you are bound to get a bunch of new players.
This kid pickes up a game, tries it out, gets a kill, feels good about himself, then damnboyadvance has killed you! then this happens over, and over, and over again. You make his experience of this game a horrible one, And then YOU wonder why he acts like this... quite frankley I am amazed that someone as apathetic as you could get so worked up over this.
This does not mean however that you should let him kill you in hopes that he will calm down. Just go easy on him. Maybe mentor him. Let him get better over time, and soon he will be a formidable opponent, or a valuble teammate.

Kids like this behave in this manner because of something known as the PECKING ORDER.

These kids are probably bullied at school, or at home.  It's a known psychological condition caused by being under great stress.  Most commonly seen in schoolkids who physically bully other kids.  In a lot of cases, it's because they get physically bullied at home, and when they are out of that environment they need to assert themselves so that they can feel what it is like to be the "better person" in their mind.  There are other types of bully - usually the "rich kids" who play a horrible psychological game of insults and backstabbing and embarrassment, because thats the way their parents treat them.  When it comes to the internet it's the same thing - these kids probably get the hell bullied out of them at school or by their parents, so they need to take it out on somebody else so that they don't feel totally worthless.

Next time you're at school, check it out.  Even the geeks have their own pecking order, usually one is extra aggressive towards the others and makes a lot of group decisions.

Plus games that require a better PC that BF:H could have less assholes, because, like it or not, most of the shit talkers are kids, and not to many kids have game capable PC's. Personally, never really run across anyone like that, though the only shooters I play are L4D, TF2, and CS:S.

Yeah, I was playing arena in TF2 and we were playing on this map that I really hate because I just am not good at it ( Seriously I never get any kills on this map) So of course I'm doing terrible, and this guy on my team just kept provoking me and provoking me saying stuff like "Hey, what's your total lifespan 10 seconds?" or "Can't you just get 1 kill?"

After about 5 minutes of this kid's bullshit I threatened to report him to Valve so they can sort him out for harassment, he then proceeded to say "Can't you take a joke, I was just kidding!" (Yeah right).

You're not going to get anywhere by reacting to people like that. Nothing is gained. People like this are everywhere. Don't give him what he wants and just keep playing the game and in the end the kid will realize that he wasted his time because he didn't get a reaction out of you.

I was playing versus mode. I was the last remaining person on the survivor's team.
