Dinosaur Jr. are a fantastic band, and were certainly a major influence on the 'alt-rock' and 'grunge' movement that came soon after this. But the most influential band of the last 50 years? My arse.
 
Also, there's a noticeable Black Sabbath influence in parts of that song with both the music and J Mascis' voice. Which would make Sabbath an influence on them, therefore more influential, in my opinion.
