I'm just watching the video, but try running the game on a similarly specced PC and see how it runs.
A similarly specced PC would be an AMD RX 580, which has no problem running PUBG. If you mean similarly priced, then it will still run better than this.
The PS4 and Xbox One (including the X) have poor CPUs. The bottom of the barrel Pentium G440 has more CPU horsepower than the Xbox One and PS4. This is speculated by Digital Foundry to be the reason why Destiny 2 still can't reach 60 FPS on consoles.
@convox: My point was not that he "has an history of being an asshole". It is that he's a videogame executive (CEO in this case) that decided to screw over his business partner (Sega) and when caught he didn't chose to take his responsabilities but to throw some of his employees under the bus. You know when Iwata and other Nintendo execs decided to take a paycut over poor financial results instead of firing people? This is the exact opposite: it's an extremely wealthy executive (because to have a home like that you know you need a lot of money) that when he fucked up decided to go for profit instead of protecting the livelihood of his employees. And this is the exact scenario that every single time happens in the gaming industry the GB staff comment is to put the blame on the "greedy suits". Yet this guy gets celebrated? Why? I'm sure you can see yourself the dissonance. It's like if next week we get an email about how Andrew Wilson (CEO of EA) bought an awesome private island just a month after shutting down Visceral Games, and the staff goes again with "he seems rad!"...

The criticisms of Abby in this thread are sexism, pure and simple. If any male member of the staff had said the exact same things, people wouldn't be reacting nearly as harshly. I'm talking the mentions that she "doesn't know what she signed up for" or "seems turned off by GOTY" and all that. No. You're wrong. And you're dicks. She plays just as many games as anyone else. The only thing she might be lacking is the perspective and history that the older members have, but that's because she's young. Hardly a character flaw.
As someone who was here all through the Patrick years, the only thing I can say is that this is demonstrably untrue. Perhaps you just missed those incidents or something, but I remember a threadnaught on the regular whenever Patrick decided to say anything even remotely "feminist"y.
The abuse Patrick got in general is like several orders of magnitude worse than the reaction to Abby has been at its lowest.
You're absolutely correct that some people got pissy when he made SJW-type comments (not meant derogatorily - I'm probably one as well). They were absolutely savage against Patrick's politics, but I cannot remember anyone flat-out questioning his "gamer creds" the way people constantly do with Abby. That's what I was aiming for with my comment #1.

People question Abby's 'gamer creds' because she knows noticeably less than her nearest point of comparison (Ben) as well as the others. It's nothing to do with being a woman or being a man. It just kind of sticks out and it's not an age thing.
Also, if you work for a video game website there's an expectation that you know your stuff, now whether that expectation is logical to have is up to you, but I can understand where people are coming from with it.
I didn't even see a need to bring up her gender, as gaming knowledge isn't something you need to be male for to have a lot of. Most people are just disgruntled that she is bashing the cult hit of the year, I think the 2B design complaints are dumb but I don't really care for Nier either way so have at it.

When it comes down to it, Nier is a Japanese game. In Japan it's not uncommon to spot women reading risque looking manga or browsing them at a store. I guarantee more people are into it than those that aren't, I don't see how anything in Nier is particularly pervy.
I don't know why many of these designs in Japanese games get a lot of complaints when western games and media are also full of ass shots and tight clothing. The BBC in particular have a boner for reporting negatively about Japan.
The whole "because Japan" thing when you see 'sexy' anime ladies is such a tired comment. Yes Japan has a different culture and is more upfront with this stuff, what's the point? Everything needs to be in line with the west? How imperialist.
If games go up in price I will likely start abusing store return systems or finding 'other' ways to get games. As someone else has said, the industry is bigger and more profitable than ever.
It's especially funny that an American is saying he is fine with games going up to $70, when a lot of us already pay more than $60. Americans have it easy - you guys don't even have to pay extra for digital versions over retail because fuck the rest of the world I guess, publishers?
A lot of games are actually overpriced in my eyes.

Comparing Nier to Gal Gun is false equivalency. Gal Gun's whole purpose is being pervy and... weird (seriously, what the fuck is going on in that game? Why are you shooting high school girls with a 'love gun?') Nier is more than just a panty shot. At least to my knowledge.
Feminism 101 and objectifying, you say. Well, I think you should look these terms up if you wanna build your whole reasoning around them. Mild sexuality =/= objectification. Just because you can look at 2B it doesn't mean the game tries to treat her just as an object, there's more to her than that. Unless you think she's just eye candy. In that case you should try that Feminism 101 course.
