started off great, i got a mere 3 hours of sleep though. opened up all of my gifts and was pretty pleased with them overall. here's a shortlist (yeah, i got a lot of stuff... i'm not sure why):
windows vista
final fantasy viii
final fantasy x-2 (despite all of the shit that this game gets, it is my destiny to see the epic facepalm of this game through my own eyes)
the dark knight
MXR M-80 bass DI (easily the best thing i've received for my bass so far... sounds utterly fantastic)
music theory for dummies / another, more comprehensive music theory book, the name eludes me
a john lennon biography
$40 for target

trivial pursuit (oh fuck i love trivial pursuit.)

4 other PS1 games for immense nostalgia value (croc, rayman, alien trilogy, alien resurrection. just don't ask. it's sentimental.)
so yeah, pretty nice haul on the whole. very happy with it. my sister also got a DS with three games, so i've been playing a little bit of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness. surprisingly solid game.
of course the main game i played today was Final Fantasy VIII, which is pure excellency, as expected. i'm about 4 hours in and already i can feel the game getting more difficult than FFVII ever was. just the first few bosses were pretty brutal for me... maybe that says a lot about my role playing noobishness. i haven't game overed yet though, so that's slightly encouraging.
here's what i'm probably gonna be spending my cash and stuff on. i am open to any suggestions though:

somehow, despite it being a truly awesome day, christmas always ends on a truly epic comedown in which i'll just become mind-boggingly depressed for absolutely no reason. i don't really get it. back to normalcy, i guess.
