shit. i just wrote out an entire blog and then accidentally pressed "back" on my browser. thus, all of my text was subsequently lost. well that just fucking sucks. i guess i'll have to recount everything again.
so i'm re-establishing a rhythm here. two blogs in two days. wow. that's an achievement, huh? i'm becoming a prolific contributor to the giant bomb community! now how about that. 12 comments on the last blog, too. that's fairly cool. evidently i haven't been completely forgotten.
i don't want to be here long because i have to go do a lot of reading and some geometry homework, so i'll cut things short. i'm still absolutely desperate to play spore, but due to recent developments that may happen sooner than i had originally predicted. more news on that soon. i still intend to put both schoolwork and sports ahead of spore in my priorities list, but i'm still probably going to pump several hundred hours into that game over the next few months. that's not even an educated guess. it's a fact that simply hasn't came into being yet.
also, i reached a final conclusion on what i will be receiving for christmas, and i'll just document that out in image form. it's probably a little early to be talking about christmas, but i know girls who have already went christmas shopping over the summer and i think some of my family members are already doing some "forward planning" so to speak. i've been talking a great deal about this with my good friend toms115, and yes, i am now convinced that this is what i will be receiving for christmas.
this, my friends, is a fender jazzmaster. it's not a particularly flashy guitar, nor is it the most beautiful. what it is, though,
is a FENDER JAZZMASTER. i'm completely in love with the quirky charm and odd body of this guitar, and this is probably the best example i have found of such a guitar. i originally wanted a green one, but this blue one is simply beautiful. i know they're not really for everyone, but man, this guitar is something else.
no, i don't plan to form a thrash metal band, therefore i don't need a jackson or a dean or an ESP. no, i don't plan to form a guns and roses tribute band, so i don't need a hugely overrated les paul. no, i don't want to be another jimi hendrix devotee who spends his entire life trying to recreate his woodstock improvization on a battered stratocaster. i need a jazzmaster, man. i think my half-destroyed telecaster is past its prime, therefore i desire a new guitar, and the jazzmaster is IT.
anyway, that was a fairly random tangent, so i'll, er, just end it here. p.s. go check out the new mogwai album, it's really excellent and it's bound to be one of the most mysteriously captivating records you've heard all year. it's near the top of my end-of-year list already.
oh and as a final note, i got a B+ on my european history exam. considering it is fundamentally a college introductory course, i am fairly proud of myself. i also beat the smartest chick in my class and a guy who got a 4.2 GPA last year. fuck yes. i'm on a roll here.
