As someone who went back and forth on whether to buy MGS5 several times during the month leading up to release and had forum discussions with people feeling guilty for the same reasons, I appreciate another view on the subject.
Hmm, played this some in beta and was less than impressed. It looks a lot better now, but it's clear from a number of different games that I'm just not in the price bracket that they're aiming for. I'm quite happy to pay $5 for a new mech/character/class/etc, maybe 10 if I really like a game, but even the mid-range Mechs are $20 and up? Crazy.
Does Pope still care whether or not you play Amplitude since he moved over to Ubisoft? As a side note, his wiki page needs to be updated. I'd fiddle with it but I'm at work :)
I would absolutely be in for more of this on a semi-regular basis. My experience with tabletop RPGs has mostly been the rules and dice heavy ones, so I was absolutely fascinated by the improv style of Fiasco.
For someone who has yet to make it to the Mun and back myself, I would have liked to see it unedited, as even the slow bits can be informative in a how-to (or how-to-not) sense. I'm not terribly troubled either way though.
Edit: For instance, it would have been nice to see how they fixed the no parachute warning.
OK, I'm baffled, where did that "I was confused by a lot of things at first" audio clip at the start come from? Just a conversation going on at the base?
Also, I wish that Dan hadn't hinted that there was something in common on the MB crew screen. Even that one tiny hint is enough to tell you what you should be looking for. Personally, I quarantined everyone who was hired at about the same time, because a clump of five solider were right together so I thought it might be date related somehow. If I had known that they had something on the display that was in common, I would have known that approach was wrong.
Oh well, just would have been nice to have seen Drew struggle with it a little. I played through as fast as I could and still lost 150 people.
