The complete lack of any reaction for the 4 NXT guys last night was appalling, especially for a crowd that chanted "NXT" several times. I get that NXT doesn't get seen as much by a main show crowd, but for there to be utter silence when they all made their entrances was worrying to say the least, and it was a complete waste of them being called up. Should of done it in a more "smart" crowd so they at least got reactions that the rest of the WWE crowd could follow along with.

Yeah the two things about last night:

A) A dead crowd makes everything worse and while probably the audience has been conditioned to chant "NXT", they probably don't actually know anything about those guys and why they should care. Debuting them in a "smart" city would at least have given them a boost.

B) It's one thing to drag out the actual feuds and debuts of the going-nowhere-in-NXT group (EC3, Heavy Machinery, Lacey Evans, Nikki Cross), but these are supposed to be the crown jewels of NXT and the best they can get is a 5 minute promo from Triple H and getting inserted into random matches? I remember when people were puzzled that Sami Zayn was debuted like 2 months before Mania and he got an actual story. What the hell are you supposed to with these four at Mania? They can't all win the Andre Battle Royal.

@dazzhardy: Neville was the King of the Cruiserweights and Neville is dead so the King is dead. Pac =/= Neville.

@enomotoshards:

NJPW: Starting with this one because it's the hottest product going right now. NJPW have a weekly TV show on AXS TV in the US (it's on Fight Network internationally). It's hosted/has commentary by J.R. and Josh Barnett and features condensed versions of the big NJPW matches. They also have a streaming service called NJPW World. It costs ‎¥999/Month (about $9/Month) and features all of NJPW's shows live (a lot of shows now feature English commentary) and has an archive of basically everything they've ever filmed.

ROH: They have a weekly show that airs on a bunch of TV channels (mostly Sinclair affiliates and cable channels) or you can watch the latest episode for free on their website. They have PPVs that I believe can be ordered online (or, of course, through a cable provider). They also have a Youtube channel where they post new and old matches for free if you want to give it a shot.

PROGRESS/ICW/Rev-Pro: These are the UK promotions and they all have their own streaming services (like $7-8/month) and you have access to the entire catalogue. Since following the UK scene can be really expensive, you can start by following them on their respective Youtube channels.

WCPW: I'm including this only because the promotion is basically free to watch, but the WhatCulture crew (you've probably stumbled across their top 10 videos at some point) have their own wrestling promotion and it's all on Youtube.

That should be a good starting off point. There's, of course, a lot of other wrestling out there (CMLL's Lucha Libre style, Joshi/Japanese Women's Wrestling promotion Stardom, whatever the hell DDT is, etc.), so if this doesn't get you interested, keep looking!

Interesting story out of Sports Illustrated about The Hardys' Brokenverse battle with Anthem/Impact. They apparently had a deal in place with them (Hardys pay $10k to $15k, sign a non-disparagement agreement and issue a joint press release to make things sound all chummy-chummy), but Anthem added an absurd clause to it (50 percent of all Hardy revenue, including Jeff Hardy’s art and music) and things (understandably) broke down from there.

@soulcake: @dazzhardy: Night 2 will be live on NJPW World tonight (pretty much going up against Slammiversary), but if you don't have that, you can wait until Friday for it to air on AXS TV/Fight Network.

EDIT: While I don't specifically have the Observer quote, there is this note about Rusev from Cageside Seats.

  • Rusev’s Money in the Bank return angle was pulled followed the decision to put the WWE title on Jinder Mahal, per Wrestling Observer. There’s currently no story ready to bring him back.

So much for Rusev getting any push.

I genuinely feel that this is the worst thing to come out of Jinder Mahal winning the WWE Championship.

Also, a combination of being super busy and not really being interested in WWE has got me feeling that I'm going to skip Extreme Rules and possibly Money in the Bank, which is depressing considering the sheer level of talent in WWE right now.

Both Pro Wrestling Sheet and PWInsider are reporting that Dash Wilder is out with an injury. PWInsider mentions that it's not a minor injury, with Sheet adding that he should be back, at the minimum, in the summer.
