This stream makes me want to see Jeff & Alex do a Ranking of 80s/90s Hip-Hop. Knowing about the term 'code switching' and using it properly officially qualifies them despite being two white dudes.
But seriously, they know their shit, and that other 80s video was pretty great.
Since Dan left I think I never watched an east video to the end. There is no goofing or anything. Just 3 people talking about safe topics like toys and kids.
You're right. I miss all of the gross stories about teeth being pulled, or what his stool looks like, or the various ways he has vomited or made other people vomit, or turning everything into a wrestling analogy, or inane questions about whether an apple is a fruit. (See? I can do it, too. So, let's not. Do you also miss Drew, Austin, Patrick, and Ryan?)
Anyway, I'm not going to begrudge anyone for not understanding or caring deeply about Yakuza's melodramatic story that spans, what, seven games? But the series definitely locked everything in and hit its stride with Yakuza 4, and you can absolutely start with Yakuza 0 because it only builds off of what they've learned. You don't have to Machete Order this series or anything. They've gotten so confident about these that they're actually trying to make the next one an RPG, and it still looks good.
That halting speech is pure torture. They should have done something like render the gameplay in slow motion and then replayed the dialogue at normal speed with the errors and pauses included.
Based on the demo, Shadow Hearts is a game about a teenage smartass who ignores the advice of his bodyguard and wanders New York City by himself until a stranger tells him to go inside an abandoned building where gets assaulted by two hobos, for some reason thinks he can use magic against them, gets knocked unconscious, and is never heard from again.
Oh, man. So many phone scammers are about to hear that "I'm so glad you called! It's been days since I've gotten to hang up on someone!" line. This may be one of the worst Nancy Drew games, but it has some of the best characters.
I know they're not going to read the comments, but just to clarify a few major things about Outer Wilds...
Vinny:
The probe you chased down isn't anything special. It's one of the thousands of probes they send out in a random direction each time loop. They already sent a probe that successfully found the Eye of the Universe before you even start your journey, so all of the other probes are useless. I kinda felt the same way when one time they launched a probe directly at the starting campsite on Timber Hearth and I couldn't do anything with it.
Everyone:
The ending isn't just about the heat death of the universe and the extinction of all life. The "older than time" signal originating from the Eye of the Universe that the Nomai are tracking is actually the song you play with your friends around the campfire at the end/beginning of all existence. A few things in the ending change if you find and talk to Solanum on the Quantum Moon. She talks about what the ending area represents a little more explicitly than the other characters, and I think the ending image changes to show creatures gathered around a campfire in the "new" universe instead of showing an empty planet if you didn't find Solanum. I never looked closely enough to see if it's a new species or a combination of Hearthians and Nomai or what. Also, you literally get to Solanum's final signal in the ending by climbing a ladder made of all the dead Nomai that led you to the Eye of the Universe. And I think her signal is coming from the same mask that falls off of the Ash Twin Project if you fuck up the experiment? Seriously, keep playing and thinking about this game if you're afraid you missed anything.
