Just as you take issue with people who call others perverts, i take issue with the "creepy" side of Japanese culture. I have my opinion just as you have your own, and we are both entitled to them. But i really don't think it is strange nor wrong to have a problem with others being obsessed over the sexualization of minors.

That's an issue with Shogun 2 i've never heard of, are you experiencing any other issues? For the most part Shogun is a very solidly built title with few major gameplay issues. Anyway, back on topic. Rome 2 is a very awesome game with a pretty great scale, but at the moment it has its fair share of issues, mostly connected to the AI at this point. Personally i'm having plenty of fun with the game still, but if you don't feel the need to play it asap i would wait till it goes on sale, for by then not only are you saving money but you will be purchasing a more solid title.

Well as you mentioned in a later post, rape fantasy is a common element in Japanese culture. That is a sexually perverted mindset right there. The necessity to over sexualize constantly strikes me as bazaar, as does the Japanese style of fan service. This is also not to mention the pedophilia aspect. Take High School of the Dead for example, an exceedingly popular anime show about minors surviving the apocalypse. The show takes every chance it gets to give an upskirt shot of the female characters or to stare at their breasts while they run, additionally the show divulges in full frontal nudity of several of the characters, who are once again under the age of majority.

Pedophiles and perverts are scorned by most of society and always will be. That is not to say everyone in Japan or has an interest in Japanese culture is one or the other, but they are quite intertwined.

I have a plethora of issues with the game, but that being said i am absolutely loving my time with this game. I'm about 6 hours or so into a campaign as Rome, and subjugating the Mediterranean feels as marvelous and rewarding as ever.

I've been playing Total War games since Medieval 1 and i am greatly enjoying my time with Rome 2. Yes there are some bugs and other issues, but for the most part it is a solid title. As for the removal of the Avatar system, it was utter garbage in Shogun 2 and personally i'm glad that everyone has to play regular battles again instead of dividing the relatively small multiplayer user base. I will admit the AI is not fantastic but it is also not noticeably different from Shogun 2's AI and is better then Empire and Napoleon Total War AI. To say this game is "horrendous" is quite simply an exaggeration and you are really over reacting.
