I agree about Halo 4. I loved the Halo narrative, but how far can they stretch it until it just becomes fan service? I cannot tell how badly I want Anniversary yet. Only time will tell.
Rent, rent rent. I feel for you there's a lot of choice. I typically buy massive rpg's or multiplayer games I can't live without... Â Yea, that's like all of these games.
It's hard to kill the character you play as. Do you feel anything? Not really. Now if they killed Alex in Half Life... Another point is it's also hard to make a personality for a character that you not only control, but throw clues and interrogations at.
I think you have some points, but I also feel many people in the gaming world want gaming to go in this direction. More immersion, more story, more serious, less barrel chested gun fighting. I'm getting a lot of replay value watching other people play and make decisions. Most people I show it to are totally into most of the mechanics. Except one friend loves to destroy everything in a car.
I've gotten to the point where I press Lie just to see what they say. Often I press B to back out of it, but if they say something that directly contradicts, then I present the evidence. But just pressing lie to hear what they say is getting really old.
