Game of the Year 2012

Here is a Top 10 list of the games I played in 2012. With a little help of GameFly, 2012 turned into the year I finished the most games in a calendar year -30- Although some titles are from the last quarter of 2011 or earlier, & note there are no FPS

List items

  • My favorite game of 2012. Long, hard & lots of fun. The sense of accomplishment is great in this game and the replay value is massive.

  • My first play thru overall, no wonder this game is regarded as an achievement in gaming. Truly an emotional adventure with about the simplest of concepts.

  • The DC Universe in comics is my favorite vs Marvel, and this game delivers an experience that movies cannot. The voice acting here is spectacular, and like its predecessor changed the way we look at comic licenses.

  • Probably the closest a videogame has gotten to being an actual movie, this game delivered the best gun fights, story telling narration and action out of all the shooters I've played so far.

  • This might be the most obscure title in the God of War series, but it is still better than 1 and 3. Fantastic story and plays great in HD remake for PS3.

  • Very late to this party, picked this up on some Spring sale on XBLA and it is one of the best downloadable games ever. Lots of fun.

  • The option to choose your story path whichever order you liked was rather appealing to me, and the Hollywood style scale of the game and length I also welcomed. Aside from some repetitive boss fights this was an engaging experience.

  • Easily the best in the series, the American setting & history makes this a great play thru. Everything that was iffy in the other games was refined here, making it quite enjoyable, even tho it is marred by glitches.

  • Prob the most 'different' game I've ever played, the psychological choices countered with quick puzzle solving makes this an interesting and addicting game, specially if you're in the 30+ age range, just like the main character.

  • This is an example that more of the same is not a bad thing, but I still rank #2 ahead of this one.
