This looks rad, the only thing that bums me out a bit is that they went with a more grounded setting than Absolver, I really loved the weird magic masks and flowy clothes
lol Battlefield V had no problem selling you sick nazi skins, it was actually kind of amazing (ly bad) how hard they leaned into the axis/allies as aesthetic decisions totally separate from their real life historical counterparts; like they tried to adapt the Star Wars battlefront ethos of "ignore the fascism, the empire looks cool" into real life.
I'm fascinated by how weird the dudes are about the PS4/5 rest mode, I've been using it constantly on both the 4 and 5 and never had an issue with it; obviously online-based games like Destiny kick you back to the menu but single-player stuff has never been a problem.
Outriders feels like the closest a game has come to "diablo with guns" in that it not only has all the random drops but also its a series of relatively small combat areas/dungeons you can jump into, hell it even has the customizable banners from Diablo 3.
I really enjoyed the demo because it seems like the sweet spot of crunchy stats ala Borderlands but with a way better shooting model.
I think the art style is totally fine, I don't love it, but it kinda hard to understand the vitriol, also I'm curious what makes the difficulty so infuriating vs something like Volgarr, which looked pretty similar in terms of bullshit (to me)
This is has been one of my favorite years to listen to because my personal list is so disconnected from the staff lists, umurangi was the only game from my personal top 5 that even got mentioned and while it got robbed (PLEASE GO PLAY THE MACRO DLC) it was fun to see what more mainstream stuff people got into, while I fell even farther down my various niche holes
