@abrasion: because its entirely reasonable to expect them to spend a few fucking minutes off air refreshing their knowledge of the basic controls/systems that are presented in the tutorial
I don't understand why there's such a huge deal about spoiling the witness. There's nothing there to spoil except puzzle solutions.
The Witness is definitely, without a doubt, the worst game I have ever played. I didn't enjoy the game at all. Some of the puzzles are extremely unrewarding. You know in most actual games when you spend a lot of time on something, and when you finally get it done, you have a great sense of accomplishment? I get absolutely none of that feeling from completing these puzzles, some of which don't actually do anything. Then, once you've finally finished enough of the puzzles, and you finish the game, your progress is erased! The developer's solution to this is telling PC players they can back up their saves before finishing the game. That's not a real solution.
My biggest issue isn't with the game though, it's with the lack of any professionalism when it comes to dealing with criticism. The Steam discussion forums for the game has a section called "Dumb Internet Comments" where a lot of troll posts, but then a lot of actual criticism is eventually put.

holy fuck drew I don't care what guns / camo / buddy / play-style you use , but PLEASE USE THE MAP, just please use it ,its great that dan can use the ipad app, but you are simply missing part of the gameplay by not doing it for yourself , and it shows , maybe if you just used the map more often it wouldn't appear so.. aimless ?
this episode was a lot better for action , put the previous was made far more tedious just due to the fact that you had to wait to finish each of your random banter conversations to even begin to ask dan where to go next .. please just streamline some of the downtime (others have asked for you to play cassettes , personally i have listened to all of those so id rather hear your banter :P)
also you probably have a better idea of where and when you want to drop supplies , rather than waiting for dan to remember he has that ability.
