Not a good year for Mr. Luckey. Also this pretty much confirms the GB staff pick of the "undoing or Palmer Luckey" for hottest mess was a great choice. In a single year he went from VR innovator to "man backing a questionable internet troll site" to "man who stole technology from his former company to make VR and tried to pass it off as his own" to "unemployed footnote of internet history". Yes he was truly the hottest mess in 2016 and extending into early 2017.

He may have his many millions to walk away with, but at the cost of his own reputation. I doubt that is what he was aiming for when he started. So to the people rushing in here to say "he's laughing all the way to the bank", I say that makes him even more of a hot mess. Having absolutely no care about his public image or his actions. That is the action of a psychopath.

Since I don't believe the man is a total maniac, I find it hard to believe he's taken this fall from grace so lightly and just did it for the money. But then again, I don't know the man personally.

Yea, I am not sure I would call this shady. Skyrim is still widely played on Steam. Steam stats shows almost 40k players at peak were dicking around with it today alone. That's #10 on their list. The game is popular across multiple platforms. Yes the price was lower before but now they are getting ready to graphically upgrade a very popular game and as others said it will be free if you had previously bought all the DLC. Now that they have advertised that will be the case and they will be selling the remaster at full price it would make no sense for them to sell all the DLC for $10. No sense in terms of running a profitable business at least. They know the game is still popular, they know people will pay full price for the remaster, they knew people would try and grab all the DLC for $10 knowing that they'd get the remaster for free.

Let's turn the argument around the other way. Let's say you already bought all the DLC when they were launched (probably a price greater than $10). You are now in line to be rewarded for your loyalty with the free remaster. Now some other guy who sees an opportunity to get a free version of the remaster swoops in and buys all the DLC for $10. How good does that reward feel to you now?

I know Bethesda is not going to go back through everyone's purchases and see who paid full price for the DLC vs Steam Sale price because that would be impossible, but it IS possible for them to prevent it from happening going forward now that they have announced the "free" remaster for certain people.

Oh that sly legal talk "We released Xbox Fitness as a service with Xbox One on Day One". Yes you did MS, and then you offered a "paid" service with DLC. Now you are shuttering it. Not cool.

If they have gaming interests...Wreck it Ralph.

And yes I would also recommend a trivia game.

And also, to change it up perhaps and if there's perhaps some beers being consumed...Cards Against Humanity...an actual table top game like that everyone can play and laugh at.

I know this is like thread necromancy at this point but I did want to say that I loved UO back in the day I played tons in college. They did ruin it which is unfortunate. I also have to say the only other game I liked crafting in besides UO was Vanguard from (at the time) Sony Online. That game had the most in-depth and crazy crafting system I ever used and it was highly rewarding. When you were the first person to make a particular item on a server shard your name was announced over world chat and if I remember correctly from that point forward the item, when made by others, said "First made by so and so" in the item description. Was totally awesome.

Unfortunately that game died a horrible death due to the insane griefing. It was open PVP and there was absolutely no where safe in the world..even in your own house. So new players were eaten alive for their mats and that was the end of the game pretty much. Wasn't a huge success to start with and then the player base never grew.
