@jimmyfenix:

I can't say I'm sure actually. I think I'm just as confused and spoke too soon. It's what I understood from reading through the mess yesterday.

Still nothing from Sony? You'd think if its not true they would come up and say something.

Yesterday they asked that this news wait a day so they could prep a statement (according to the EG guy), which is why everyone is just running with it being true. So that statement, good or bad, is probably coming any minute now.

I think the better questin is if Microsoft was able to price match the PS4 would anybody really be bitching about Kinect in reguards to the extra $100 or do people genuinely hate the idea of Kinect in general.

I would want to be able to take it off and put it in the closet. The price going down would just be the cherry on top.

Sony and MS started at opposite ends and are now racing to the middle to become the same boring console.

It seems like something that is hard to get into and being beaten into the ground. Which makes it seem uninviting and uncool.

The explosion of streamers and the esports scene eclipsing everything else just makes it all seem artificial, like you're surrounded by pod people or something.

Not the pay wall, but I could see them dropping a few walls to try and stay competitive.

Sony have recently said that f2p games, sub-fee MMOs, cross-game chat and Netflix-like services won't be behind their plus pay wall.

Given the current momentum that has built against them, I think Microsoft might be more open about these things than before.

The longer you have it the more its worth grows to you, so the less likely it is that you cancel it... so its worth grows... so you can never cancel it... so it becomes more valuable.

Vicious cycle of games.

Hard to imagine someone who has had it for the full year who will cancel all of that, and another year of potential, for $50.

Ni No Kuni. I was mega hyped for it and paid full price. Artistically it's a 10/10, but I thought a lot of the gameplay design was bad and the AI was so busted it's kind of insulting that it went unfixed it in the year (or more) between the JP and US/EU release.

If you're dead, isn't your brain already destroyed?

All zombies rise up, realize that they can't exist and re-die. The living wins.

NES and SNES. They lost most third parties when PS1 came out and have still not recovered. By the N64 they had become the Nintendo platform rather than the platform.
