I sort of visited giant bomb every now and then from the time it started but it wasn't until 1up laid off all those podcast guys a few years back that I subscribed to the bomb cast and was hooked from there.

so far the ads are absolutely fine.  it was more weird to see a site like this without ads than to see what we have now.  if we ever get ads that block the page until you find a tiny 'close' button or ads that play sounds until you find a tiny mute button then I will be severely disappointed, but right now I am fine with everything.

I hope bioware doesn't let us down with this one.  Mass Effec is awesome.  Dragon Age is awesome for different reasons.  I don't want Mass Effect in my dragon age.

i don't think harmony of despair is really a new castlevania in the way Brad expects it to be.  it looks more like bite size chunks of a full 2D castlevania game optimized for quick bouts of co-op play.

I'm doubtful about their ability to keep randomized FPS missions interesting for a whole game but it looks good so far.

" If there is voice acting, I'm going to punch a kitten. One thing I don't want in a Zelda game is voice acting. I don't care if it feels dated. Voice acting just wouldn't seem right. "
I used to think this about zelda, but Twilight Princess changed my mind.  The first half of that game was very cinematic and it felt strange to have those characters moving their mouths with no sound coming out.  I think tasteful voice acting could definitely be ok.

The art looked fantastic and the gameplay had technical issues. "
I wouldn't say the game looked awful, but the art looked like Twilight Princess except a little brighter.... If that's your thing then cool, but visually that game does not look like a real improvement in the series.  Man... people who like Nintendo REALLY like Nintendo.  I think I agree with the poster who said a lot of these games look like stuff I would buy for $10-$15 on XBLA or PSN... just because they put a name like Kirby or DK behind it people start jizzing and opening up their wallets on reflex. "
that's ridiculous.  just because a game is a 2D side scroller doesn't mean it's not worth the price of a full game assuming it's as long and has as much depth as any other.
