Don't freak out... don't freak out... don't freak out... come on... it's not worth it, food, just relax...
FUCK YOU MEGAMAN X IS THE BEST GAME EVER AND YOU SHOULD STOP REVIEWING GAMES BECAUSE YOU OBVIOUSLY HAVE NO TASTE AND GAH THAT GAME STILL PLAYS SMOOTHER AND CONTROLS MORE ACCURATELY THAN 80 PERCENT OF THE GAMES THAT ARE MADE TODAY AND IF YOU CAN'T APPRECIATE THAT THEN YOU SHOULD GO JUMP OFF SOMETHING12!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!@!!!
...damn
edit: But realistically I think it's a shame that old games are so commonly said to have 'aged badly'. If I may say something obvious, it's not the game that has changed, it's your perceptions of how games should play. Therefor, all it takes to appreciate older games is an open mind and a willingness to enjoy yourself. I routinely play older games and enjoy them. Just recently I played through Doom II for the first time and enjoyed myself immensely. That game is so well designed in so many ways and there's no reason that people shouldn't be able to enjoy it just because the way that FPS play has changed since 1994. Likewise I didn't play Megaman X or the NES Megaman games until probably around 4 years ago and that didn't stop them from becoming some of my favorite games of all time. Like I said earlier, all it takes is an open mind and suddenly you have 40+ years of incredible games to play rather than just the last 5.
Halo was pretty revolutionary. It standardized fpc controls as we know them today. Recharging health, only being able to carry 2 weapons at once, dedicated grenade and melee buttons etc. are all standard fps conventions now and halo was the first game to incorporate them all into one game seamlessly. I dont know why people never acknowledge this.
edit: it had some pretty crappy level design at times, though. no one will deny that.
edit 2: and the lower reviews for PC probably had more to do with the fact that it was a 2 year old game at that point.
Furries aren't so bad. I know some furries and they are strange people with a hobby that I don't quite understand but they're also really nice.
edit: and I don't see anything morally wrong about it either. They just like to dress up like animals. It's a bit childish, but it's not doing any harm. And they don't all like to role play animals when they have sex but for the ones that do, well that's weird but again, they're not hurting anyone. whatever floats their boat. It's not like they're fucking actual animals.
Jeff sucks at megaman apparently. Megaman 9 was the perfect difficulty for me and it really wasn't even as hard as some of the other games in the series and it was fucking awesome and I am jizzing my pants right now for megaman 10.
SHEEP MAN IS THE SHIT
edit: I'm going to go play megaman now, thanks for reminding me of how awesome those games are, thread.
edit 2: but I should say I'm also worried that capcom is going to start pumping out megaman games every two seconds and ruin the series for a second time. don't be that guy, capcom.
" Yeah, I'm sure it's pretty good. Bejeweled+Turn Based Strategy sounds like a decent mix. However, my and everyone else's beef with the game stems from the fact that it is Ubisoft's continued bastardization of the Might and Magic franchise from a series of stellar (and not so stellar) RPGs and Turn Based Strategy games to a bunch of spinoffs that aren't exactly going to appeal to the same crowd. "
I'll agree with you that it's strange what they're doing. Anyone for whom the might and magic name means anything is going to know enough about the series to realize that these new games don't really fit in it. But......... it's still a good game regardless of what they're calling it.
