I was with Brad on the Super Mario Maker side of things. Lots of room for improvement in the areas of filtering good levels, getting feedback on your own, and developing a better social infrastructure. Having to go outside of the game, or have an existing set of followers to fill in for those deficiencies should have knocked it down the list.
The most dissapointing category was real weird this year. Personally, the glitchiness of the Bethesda games never bothered me. It's usually harmless or amusing and I can shrug it off and go on my way. It's odd to me to see people react that strongly to people clipping through floors etc. I just can't find it in me to worry about it. Batman, on the other hand...man, fuck that game. Using the batmobile felt like some bullshit busy work chore that left me wanting to do anything else instead. It was a fucking bait and switch too. I didn't expect it to be such a large part of that game. Really just a turd of a thing.
Also, I know no ones on this with me, but I thought the Bloodborne OST should have been mentioned. The score for the boss fights made those fights great.
Nothing about Guitar Hero was surprising. It didn't do much of anything differently. They changed their model for releasing their tracks and put FMV as their backdrop instead of animated characters? Otherwise, it was the same old Guitar Hero.
