Smash patch notes remain needlessly infuriating. “Game balance adjustments” is a slap to the face for anyone who wants to actually know how the hell their favorite characters have been buffed or nerfed. Seriously, goddamn Splatoon and Arms give a detailed breakdown on how they changed everything, but the Smash dev team is content with this pointless obfuscation. There’s no reason they can’t give a point-by-point changelog like just about every other competitive game on the market.
Yeah, it's legitimately infuriating. I'm far from a competitive player, but I really like the game and when a new patch comes out I want to know if the characters I like are different and if I need to adjust to that. Saying "hey some characters were changed" is not constructive at all and is a baffling decision/
Jeff remains one of, if not THE, only personality I can watch play videogames solo with any consistency.
I can't put my finger on exactly WHY, other than the fact that he never sounds like he's trying to have a conversation with no one, but it's more like a lecture from an interesting professor of videogame history.
He hits a really good balance on solo streams where he's chill enough you can leave it on in the background, but has all those interesting nuggets from his history with the industry to make it engaging.
@mendia: Totally. I get why some people find it frustrating, and I guess it depends on why you're coming to the game, but as someone who primarily plays Smash by myself, I love the character unlock system. It gives a sense of progression to play, and seeing new guys pop up and having to do the fight is always really exciting. Plus it encourages me to try every character, instead of just sticking with my mains.
I've played a little of this game so far, and I want to like it more than I do. It's very nice and chill, but I just feel like it could be more. The premise is so cool. We'll see how it goes further in.
I had liked the look of this game from the gifs, but this video really sold me on it even though I probably shouldn't have spent the money. As someone who always really liked the idea of Zachtronics games but was somewhat baffled by SpaceChem, I'm finding this game a bit more approachable and really fun. I love that it's kind of as hard as you want it to be. The core puzzles can be tricky, but ultimately there's usually some easy, awkward way of doing. The real trick is optimizing solutions.
