At the end of the day this is the fault of a selfish group of hackers. If a group were determined enough they could do this to Microsoft or anyone else, but they happened to choose Sony, this has happened and we're all living with it. It's not about which console is better or how good a company Sony are.
If you think they're not doing absolutely everything possible to fix this and futureproof against further incidents you are a moron, because Sony are taking serious hits to their wallets and their reputation every day this problem is in effect. Corporations don't enjoy losing money or popularity so they're not sitting around scratching their heads, they're frantically trying to fix this.
It sucks, but it'll get fixed, people will play their games and the world will keep on spinning. If you abandoned your PS3 and went out and got a 360 because of ONE month of no online gaming I think you're pretty sad. E3 is weeks away and we'll all be talking about new games and possibly even new consoles as if this never happened.
