Personally I would say that this is a distinct phenomenon in that we're talking about a fictional piece of media and not a person, but I suspect you're just lumping together everything you don't like under that tent because it feels right to you
Also truly incredible how you a) feel like you are giving me an introduction to a new world despite your political viewpoint being extremely common and b) can maintain your victimhood despite lack of actual persecution
Maybe Ben didn't fully explain his bad Aladdin take (maybe the best Disney movie of the time) but it feels like it's representative of a current trend in criticism where people don't even want to see certain characteristics in a piece of media even if they're cast in a negative light, or for a specific narrative purpose. Always seemed very weird to me. Aladdin is shitty to the princess in ways the movie specifically condemns. It's a story about a dumb young kid, who is more believable for doing things in a kind of meatheaded way
i dont know why everyones mad about the beginning of this video; i just came to say that I am shocked and appalled that no one knows Sarasaland or that Daisy is its princess. This is baseline Mario cannon, folks

they were pretty quick to jump Down Dan’s throat during the death stranding discussion but frankly I find what Alex said just as dismissive
@epidehl: i get that, totally. although i think the effect is much lessened here, because this game is about enjoying the writing, and many of the “failure” states are as much if not more fun than the “success” states. You can build an understanding of the stats and system as you go along without having to fight the same kobolds twice.
In that way, it’s actually a better representation of tabletop roleplaying than most of those old crpgs ever were. It’s extremely not about powergaming
I enjoyed Gears 5 well enough, but I’m kind of surprised by what seems to be both a tepid and small reaction to it, generally. Like, Gear 4 was a tentpole game for Microsoft, and Gears 5 really seems like it came and went without most people caring. And while it’s maybe not a massive change from 4, I thought the game was solid.
what am i missing? did shooter people just get entirely eaten by battle royale games in the last 2 years?
