In the cover story for Game Informer a few months back, the interviewer seemed concerned about this as well. Rockstar's response was that they think of noir as a way of looking at the world in a bleak way. They wanted to mix noir with a different location to avoid having too much Snowstorm New York.

It doesn't really count as breaking, but I dropped my controller in shock during the big scene (you know what I'm talking about) in Bioshock.

I chose F, but I personally think that before the world ends, we'll end up like the civilization (if you can call it that) from the movie Idiocracy. I don't think we'll all just die in an instant, but rather gradually lose our intelligence until some simple thing, be it a virus or bad decision, destroys us all. I personally believe God will go a little more subtle at the end of the world than fire and brimstone, otherwise it would be too easy to believe in Him.

Brütal Legend. This technically doesn't count, because I'm a Tim Schafer fanboy.

Mirror's Edge. They shouldn't have put combat in that game in the first place.

Shadowrun. It was horrible, but I liked the ability to teleport.

My little brother once nearly knocked himself unconscious by just falling over. When we asked what he was doing, he replied, "I was trying to walk without using my legs."

The past few months I've been studying C# and C++. I haven't really created anything big other than a few of the games the instructors teach you to make, but I've been thinking... It's always been my dream to create a top-down RPG (like Chrono Trigger) game that tells the story of a teenage gamer/programmer, who leads a normal life during the day and then uses that life as inspiration for the games he makes in his spare time. It would basically be my autobiography in 16-bit, interspersed with some Scott Pilgrim-esque randomness. I've been told I'm a good writer and in high school I won several awards (nothing big, just district size stuff). I also have found a way to make any picture seem like it came from a Super Nintendo (just look at my profile picture), which would be perfect for cutscenes.
An example: one of my ideas revolves around Driver's Education. During the day, you would be in an old jalopy of a Driver's Ed vehicle while the teacher constantly nags you, telling you the controls for the vehicle. You would go home and then enter a game that looked strikingly similar to the game you played earlier, except now you would be in a ridiculously overpowered vehicle, complete with rocket launchers, nitro and the like, fighting through epic battles, and tons of classic video game references.
Another example I have yet to expand on is the fact that almost every gamer I know surveys a room and imagines what would be the perfect reaction for a zombie invasion. During the day, you would be at a building I live next to that would be perfect for zombie defense, and then when you return home, you would actually be defending the building from zombies in a game you create.
The normal life would have character too, as you try to woo the ladies and be successful in your social life, with each different girl in the school having an entirely different story and personality, so it would be up to you to decide which way you want to go and who you want your friends to be.
It's an ambitious project for sure, but I have several friends who are good with 2d art and programming, so that wouldn't be a problem. I've already got an outline of the story, and cutscenes would simply be photos of my friends edited to look more 16-bit. It would take me a while, but I just wanted to know, Giantbomb, would you play this game? I'm open to any ideas, even the most ridiculous ones.

@Burns098356GX: Thanks a lot, now I'll be having nightmares involving this thread and a time paradox.
