Blighttown sucks, but not as bad as people say (This is of course in my own experience). The frame rate is pretty crappy at times, but I never found it to be crippling. The biggest thing that place will teach you is how to deal with a few enemies in very tight spaces. It took me about 3 days to get down to the bottom (maybe 1-2 hours a day). Also, make sure you get the eagle shield. It has the highest magic resist stat up to that point I believe. I used it quite a bit until much further in the game.
He's mentioned the Time vs Money thing a bunch of times which I find completely legit. When I was in college, I bought very few games (almost always used) with the little extra loot I had, and pirated a few when I really wanted one but couldn't afford it. Now that I work and have a job with (slightly) more income, Its MUCH MUCH easier to just buy them. I think the only games I pirated in the last 5 years were Spore to see what it was all about (Protip: the free creature creator was almost as fun as the whole rest of the game), and the leaked demo of Deus-Ex (which I promptly pre-ordered after I finished).
In college, I had more time than money. Now I have more money than time.
@wewantsthering: I agree its a long stretch. Point is, every game is copying/building etc... from all other previous games in the genre. Yes this happens to be a particularly blatent case, but its the way the industry works there little use crying over it.
As an aside, go to the description of SimTower on the GB wiki. Now read the first couple lines but instead of SimTower say Tiny Tower. Granted, the very niche realm of "tower sims" means they are all going to be very similar, but the description just fits so well.
Other than A different scientist, it would appear that all your equipment rolls over to the next game. I can't exactly tell if anything other than the scientist changes. Anyone notice any difference?
I'm fine with whatever they do but I would prefer a whole new game. At this point fixing the covenant stuff won't make much of a difference because people would get bored too quickly if its onya new area or 2.
