Going into the hottest mess, I was thinking NMS. But the Palmer situation is fucking ridiculous. Glad the crew chose it.
Conversely, I really don't think Doom should have been in top 3. I mean it has style but not styyyyle. Its the difference between Tekken and Guilty Gear, to me at least. It nails its tone and all, but it ain't got the styyyyyyle.
@corvidus: Well Skullgirls is probably the best place to start ,though Guilty Gear Revelator comes close. Its the game I started with so I'm a bit biased. You still gotta put in work to be good but the small roster ,lenient inputs and good tutorials go a long way. Also that training mode is packed with good stuff and combo trials are actually useful.
But most importantly, you need someone else to play against. It sounds obvious but trying to learn a fighter in a vacuum is very difficult(and counter-intuitive). And getting constantly beaten by better players gets frustrating(even SG can be super brutal). Getting better along side someone is a great way to learn a game.
I really like this piece. Some of this hits real close to home. Blackness is such a specific experience that I have never even come close to encountering in a game and I honestly don't know if I even want that.
Also fuck some of these comments. I'm not surprised but still disappointed.
I like that this tier of Steam indie game gets to come to PS4 more than I actually liked playing this game. The bullet hell boss fights are cool but the rest wasn't great.
Didn't play the first so nothing about a single player campaign particularly excites me. But hey it looks cool. I think they did a pretty good job of barely showing any humans faces in this.
I really liked Raiden Project as a kid, which had 1 and 2. Besides the early ones, most of the Raiden games are on steam(one of them does have issues though). I hope this eventually leaves exclusivity.
