@aiurflux: Yup, something about the faces seem weird. Good thing they'll mostly be aliens, I guess.

This trailer was halfway between a marketing pitch and a Star Trek-style monologue. All kinds of weird. I hope it turns out okay.

oh i thought the faces looked good!

@12:40 in video that ending song reminded me so much of a snake rattle and roll song, anyone else notice that?

This was a great view. I loved this game, I was so sad I had to steam refund it because I was one of the people it was making extremely sick. I really didn't want to, as the game was just so great. Even if I thought the audio log stuff was kinda dumb

i hear ya this game gives huge motion sickness, which is strange

Man, Drew seemed really [unnecessarily] down on it in this QL. Only played a couple hours so far, but it reminds me heavily of a beautiful & heartfelt Limbo - what's not to love about that?

Maybe he isnt this genre at all - so it is understandable - none of us get very excited to play a genre we have little interest in

Honestly, I think Mario Maker is the best answer for GoTY. Super Mario Maker is a god damn game changer. People are going to steal the SHIT out of it's content, especially with its tile based level creator. And I can easily see this being a "gateway" into game development. Mario Maker just oozes level design philosophy. It won't change things now, but 5, 10, 15 years later. God damn, Nintendo is still a Threat.

Super Mario Maker should have came out a decade ago and be in it's third installment by now. Certainly Nintendo must have been using a similar program to make their own official Mario levels for years, so why they never thought of and released this sooner I cannot understand.

rayne i am with you, i dont really have an interest playing 2d mario levels anymore, and I have no creative bones to make a level - that being said I do enjoy watching it on twitch often, so that is something

i still listen to sonicmayhem, not only is he an excellent producer of game soundtracks - he is still making music (this song will get your quake 2 nostalgia kicking when it hits at the end)

The problem with wanting better conditions for artists, programmers, producers, designers, and everyone else in the game dev trenches is that for guys on the software side of things don't have a union in place at all. It would also take YEARS for them to even get one started much more to even be in a position to start making demands. Voice actors had it relatively easily by piggy backing on SAG. Computer professional in many instances can't even get overtime pay due to federal law (IIRC).

I can pretty much support everyone except the large AAA publishers in this fight.

^ This. Once one group gets a bigger piece of the pie everyone is going to want one and its going to make the cost of video game development skyrocket.

all that aside im okay with it if it means better working conditions for the programmers etc - some places have it really bad -
