@danielkaszor: It'd be a pretty ugly reason to ban someone. Unfortunately, it's a prevalent bug right now, and you can find videos and gifs all over the place where other players are having the same issue. The crazy part is that you can shoot through walls, as well. There is video out there where only select buildings haven't loaded in, and people are able to shoot them through the invisible walls.
If one of the devs watched how hapless they were even with wall-hax, I can't imagine they'd put down the ban hammer.
I am loving these videos because they are hilarious. If they ever do get serious about taking first place as a group, I think maybe Brad and Jeff should try for it as a duo before they go as a full squad.
After 4 games I finally noticed Alex' main flaw in these games: He doesn't dodge enemy attacks. In many of the robot master fights he just kinda hopes they don't hit him while he damage races them with their weaknesses. That's a bad strategy. Well, "strategy".
I think you're right about this. He tends to get on tilt after he loses a few times and then he struggles to internalize the patterns. The thing is, assuming you're using the right weapon, damage racing bosses works incredibly well in Mega Man 2, which is probably the NES Mega Man that people have the most experience with. All the other Mega Man games are pretty difficult and you need to be on your A game with pattern recognition and attack avoidance even if you are using the right weapon.
Rather than save scum, I kinda wish Alex would have just farmed E-tanks. Write down the password when you have 8, and then grab the ninth on your way down. Blow all the E-Tanks as you get through the bosses, and if you lose, you use the password and it's still within the spirit of the series. It's just disheartening watching him get so frustrated, and I cringed a little whenever he used E tanks despite only having two or three of them.
I'm glad Hyper Light got some love. I think it was my favorite game from 2016.
I think Dark Souls 3 belongs on the top ten, but I'm happy that it finally got mentioned, at least.
What a great year for games it was. I don't agree entirely with their list, and would have wanted to squeeze on BF1, Dark Souls 3, Enter the Gungeon, X-Com 2, and Salt and Sanctuary.
Man, I think they're super wrong about BF1 lacking depth and having poor progression. BF3 locked up way too much basic stuff behind progression. BF1 has enough locked up to keep you playing, but you never feel gimped. It also has a high skill ceiling and hard counters for everything. The Operations mode is a great addition, but I do agree that it could use more maps.
Overwatch did nothing for me, so I'll just accept that I have different taste and move on.
On the other hand, Hyper Light Drifter is my favorite game from 2016, and it's probably going to be left off of every single aware list :(
