No he is actually right. You use the boat to start the fights rather then once the fight is already starting. Which is why Knukka is one of the harder heros to play, the boat can be amazing...it just requires precision and foresight. Plus saying "We need a boat" is pretty polite. They could have freaked out on Knukka and called him all sorts of names / told him to uninstall...etc the standard insults. That second boat though shows how great a pretty much perfect one is, which he was complimented for.
@legitfruitsnack: There is a ton of that information, even all over this forum. Poke around and you should be able to find most of it. Read up / watch as much as possible, then jump into a Bot game. Start with the specific easy heros to play. Once you feel that you grasp one or two of them, play some Co-Op vs Bots. From there if you feed comfortable, jump into matchmaking games. Generally the Giantbomb channel is filled with friendly people, so search there for people to queue with.
Ep3 will be general hero roles and what heros are friendly to new players. Short talk on the lanes.
Ep 4 will be the jungle overview, camp sizes / span information.
Ep 5 is stacking and pulling camps as a support player, when / where / why.
Those are all recorded and ready to rock, will release a new one every few days. Episode 6 will be last hit / deny and lane control. Episode 7 will be warding, where and why. After that though, the door is wide open. Can focus on specific roles throughout the game. Possible picking / team synergy. Really at this point just taking everyone's ideas and adding them to a list...then hopefully I can knock out as many questions as possible and make these a good resource for new players.
@cheappoison: I don't think I mentioned it, your right though...I probably should have. Coming to think of it, maybe I should make an episode focusing on control groups / micro. Could talk about how to make control groups as well as little tricks like hitting tab to shuffle through units.
@wasabicurry: Episode 2 is actually just that. I talk about Agi, Str, and Int. Then also the types of damage, Physical, Magical, Pure, and Composite. It is already recorded and uploaded, just waiting for the word that I can flip it live.
@hyuzen: Well I hope that these help. If there are specific areas that you have questions on, let me know and I can add them to the list of topics to hit or I can just help you personally. I played at least 1000ish games of LoL before the Dota beta came out, so I am still quite familiar with how LoL differs from Dota 2.
@triple07: That is a wonderful idea, that didn't really occur to me. I will do one based off that and can expand upon it by making it about lane presence. How to control a late in a beneficial area / why you need to control the lane...etc.
It is very unfortunate, but this type of stuff is inevitable. All it takes is one dude out of ten to ruin an hour of everyone's time. All you can really do is just report him and move on. He isn't worth the time or headache. Honestly, the best advice I can give you (after playing billions of hours of Dota) is to just step back, take a day off, and then come back fresh. Pick up some other games, go workout...etc anything to take your mind off it for an hour. For every awful person like this, you will meet a wonderful person who becomes someone you play with on a regular basis.
