I'm watching Kai for the first time along with them but I watched all of the original DBZ. For some reason I did not even consider the fact that so many people who had never seen DBZ at all would join them for the ride but I know that is a thing after reading these comments. That is the best aspect of this whole thing, feeling the joy vicariously of people watching this weird series for the first time without any context including anime in general. I really hope people stop shouting at them trying to tell them the right way to watch it or giving them spoilers. It completely ruins the best part of this.
Even though I think he's playing it up, I so agree with Dan on Kojima/Metal Gear. Stop dissing my Metal Gear pls :(
I'm okay with people not being into MGS but Vinny repeatedly comparing Kokima to a high schooler who thinks they have big ideas but has no talent is annoying (which is saying something since Vinny is my favorite GB staffer). Kojima plays these teasers up and has weird shit in his games (and a bit of an ego) but he is very good when it comes to direction and themes. The action scenes in MGS 4 were second to none and the message in MGS 2 is coming true today and that game came out in 2001 when social media was like not even a term you used in relation to the internet. Who would have thought that in 2017 I'd be thinking I wish GW had been real and had won. Junk data is fucking us up right now. I also liked playing all of the games but that is the part that I could see people not getting on board with.
